Rory one of my all time favorites. I wish he was still with us.

After all these years, I still can see him in my minds eye, performing right in front of us live twice a year apart in a basement club in Milwaukee. Everyone seated on the floor, we had long hair and scruffy jeans. And there he was, the man we had all come to see with his trusty and fantastic bass player, Gerry McEvoy, at his side. The thrill and happiness that he provided to us those two nights just can't be described. We left the club numb and exhausted and yet, happy beyond happy. The greatest performer by far, that I've ever seen!
My hope is someday I will be seated in front of him being thrilled all over again. RIP Rory......
Roy
It may just be me, but if I had the choice to see any of our departed guitarists that I never did see, Hendrix, Stevie, Kossoff etc. everytime I would choose Rory. He really was the complete musician. Let his memory always live on...
Well the rain ain't fussy 'bout where it lands
It'll find you hiding no matter where you stand
It's gonna rain brother and it's gonna rain hard
When the blues come calling with his calling card
It ain't too funny when you'd rather die
Ain't no pleasure when that girl don't reply
To your lovesick letter that you wrote in tears
About feeling so bad for a million years
Watch out brother, be alert
Whatever you do, don't show that hurt, don't show that hurt

Roy, I saw Rory a couple of times, too and yes, I also had long hair and scruffy jeans with patches and badges. I wonder what happened to that battered strat with barely any paint left on it? Somewhere I have some 35mm photos of him on stage at the local hall to remind me of the man.
Phil
Hi Phil,
Well, if you can believe Wikipedia, it tells a bit of the story here:

I have some pictures and recordings that a friend so graciously sent me. If she reads this, I want to thank her very much. They're a special part of my rememberance of this great man.
