Topic: JB, but not Joe.

Hey,

My name is Jason B, and I'm a big fan of Joe's from Detroit.  Although I frequent the website to see if a Detroit show has been scheduled (apparently there is still no ice water in hell), I just found the forum today.

It sound a little cheesy, but Joe is one of my major influences for playing.  My other influnces are Derek Trucks (who played an awsome Detroit show last night), Buddy Guy, Warren Haynes, SRV, Hendrix, Albert King, etc...

Jason:  Welcome to the forum....there's a lot of cool stuff here, check out the "Joes guitars" section for gear tips, occasionally from the man himself.

Don't know what your financial situation is, but there's an upcoming gig featuring both Joe and Derek in Maryland on 8/15/09, near Baltimore.  There's a topic in the "other artists" section called "Hot August Blues".  Maybe you can make the trip down, it's only about a 10 hour drive from Detroit :-)

Hi Jason, I saw the "JB - Not Joe" and I thought maybe Jeff Beck had signed up lol !

If you look at the tour page you'll see that Joe is playing in Indianapolis in October. I'd suggest a road trip with some friends.
Once you get to know some of us here in the forum you'll find that road tripping to see Joe is not all that uncommon.

I recall Joe did do a free show around Detroit last summer. You just have to keep checking the tour page every once in a while to keep on top of it.

Hi Jason and welcome to Joe's forum.....glad you came across us.
You couldn't have picked a better player than Joe for inspiration, he's truly one of the best guitarists on this planet!
