ZZ Top To Celebrate 40th Anniversary On VH1 Storytellers

That sounds very interesting, George. I´ll be back from my holidays by then, but I´m not sure if it´s also on German TV.
Just read a nice review about the concert. "There are bluff packages in the supermarket, in the share market...but not so with ZZ Top. They ARE from yesterday."

Re: ZZ Top Live

I see from the ZZ Top website they are going to do a short U.S. headline tour after their tour with Aerosmith. They will be playing a small theater in the Wisconsin Dells end of August. I'm smelling a road trip for me and the Mrs. .

I have NEVER been disappointed by a ZZ Top live performance.

When I was a child I spoke as a child, But all I heard was how I should get ahead,
Now growing up it ain't anything but all This indecision with these debts and doubts
And worries hanging over my head. When I was a child I spoke as a child,
I wish I could remember what I said.

It's Frank Beard's 60th today!  I saw them way back in the 70's as a headliner.  This certain band named KISS opened and needless to say the crowd was stunned.

You have to give it up for Kiss in the early days, just for having the guts to step out in front of a ZZTop crowd with full makeup, costumes and giant platform shoes. lol
Did they get booed, or was it just a kind of stunned silence...or did the crowd come around and start liking them?

At first a whole lot of looking at each others response but once (about 10 seconds) the spectacle started everybody went nuts.  I'm sure there were some purists who were scratching their heads.  Quite a pairing.

Awestruck

Re: ZZ Top Live

I for one care about bands lip syncing.  you pay to hear a live show, warts and all.  I want to hear the vocal tracks from the album, I'll put on the album, not empty my wallet for a concert ticket.

I am not for making exceptions to integrity principles just because I like the band.  ZZ are great, but that is bs.

Elton John has a pretty good, blunt quote on backing tracks and lip syncing that I can't fully remember but remember enough to say it sums up what I'm talking about rather nicely.

By the way, quality review eva's dad.  succint.
