Re: Chickenfoot

Ran out to Best Buy at lunch break and picked up the cd. Listening to it now on my laptop. Kickin' some serious butt. So far "Runnin' Out" is my favorite track. Also dig the heat sensitive cover.

When I was a child I spoke as a child, But all I heard was how I should get ahead,
Now growing up it ain't anything but all This indecision with these debts and doubts
And worries hanging over my head. When I was a child I spoke as a child,
I wish I could remember what I said.

Re: Chickenfoot

Just finished the whole cd. "future in the Past" rocks. Worth it just for that one song.

Re: Chickenfoot

Love the album...some great tunes and monster playing from Satch. Can't go and see them in Shepherd's Bush (I was gonna score a tout ticket) as my son has his new school evening on the same day. sad

Re: Chickenfoot

Hmmm ... I wasn´t too impressed with what I heard up to now. Big names of course, but after listening to "Oh Yeah" for example I mainly thought "Oh well, I´ve heard that before..." - but I´ll give the album a listen anyway.

Review anyone?

I'd have to say it's a great cd...but then again you have to love Satch,Anthony,Smith & Hagar....:) I'd call it a really interesting mix because they
give you a taste of all 4 bands. Live show of course would be fantastic especially if you are a Joe Satriani fan...Best Buy aslo has the limited edition double vinyl for 19.99. Their  appearance on late night Friday with Conan was cool, even though I thought their harmony vocals on On Yeah were a bit off(could have been the monitors)
Lucky Conan, Joe handed him his Chickenfoot pattern Ibanez guitar when the song was over.

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually.........

Go to http://www.chickenfoot.us/listeningparty/ to listen to the tracks in their entirety.  Also includes the bonus track (#12).  A rockin' CD overall.  Can't wait to catch one of the live shows!

C'mon June 7th !

Now this is a supergroup .  Nothing but respect for every band member !

CD is supposed to be out today(June 5th) per all of the advertising last night on the Pens/Redwings game on Tv.
I think it's a Best Buy promotion because they are the ones who did the commercial...
On the new announced tour site Chickenfoot is coming to the Sandcastle venue in Pittsburgh August 5th (Wednesday)...:)
I'll be there....and yes GO PENS!!!!!!  Wow what a game last night-unbelievable to say the least.

I just noticed they're also playing the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame for free Aug 15th !   Road trip !!!!!!

Re: Chickenfoot

I got the cd, and it sounds like VanHalen when they were good. Take that for whatever...

I dunno, I like it - but I didn't hear anything jaw-dropping. (There's no Reconsider Baby's on the album that I found.)
It's just a good meat and potatoes supergroup album.

Whatever!
Got my tickets yesterday for Chickenfoot in Chicago August 7th. Looking forward to it. Davy and Back Door Slam will be the opening band on the U.S. leg of tour. Should be a great show.

Thanks for the link John! Nice gesture to let everyone listen to the tracks for free ...

"Soap on a rope" is pretty catchy - I like that one. "Bitten by the wolf" is a cool song as well. After the first real listen I think it´s a decent album, but not REALLY my cup of tea ... doesn´t really grab me. But that´s just me. wink
I think it´s difficult to release anything with the pressure of being labled a "Supergroup". I´m very curious to hear about their live shows though ... hope the guys who are going will report back.

Hey Brack, I thought you were going with your brother? Guess not.

You'll have to wait for my review I'm afraid - time is in short supply chez curryman.

What I can say is that the band were fantastic and the audience were really up for it.

more soon.

I met Chad back in April @ the Jeff Beck show in Oakland. we talked about the band & future Chili Peppers shows, but let me tell you it's very distracting looking at him and not think you're talking to Will Ferrell. When Chickenfoot appeared on Conan O'Brien Chad wore a t-shirt that read:  I'm Not Will Ferrell   LOL!!!  When you meet him for laughs ask him how he liked Jeff Beck in Oakland.
