Re: Most Embarrassing Albums
Pat Boone
We- in the late 50´s I was a leading member of a local Elvis fan club- used to hate him, but someone always managed it to play his songs in the late hours of a party.

Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill
I must have had issues around the time I ended my teenage years...
I feel very fortunate to say that I do'nt think I have one that I'm ashamed of. Rock and roll!!!

Out of interest how many albums do you own?
Alright, you've beaten it out of me and I will confess now. I once owned "More of the Monkees"! What on Earth was I thinking? At the time, I also owned some Jimi Hendrix albums. Obviously, it was a time of confusion during my earlier days on this planet. However, I'm much better now(?)!

OH NO!!!
...don't look at me like Auntie Grezelda

LOL....I have about 340 albums. Do you want me to name them all?
My whole rap collection really. Cept for some of the NaS, Dre, NWA, Run DMC and **##.

DO NOT DISPARAGE THAT ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you know that Jimi opened for the Monkees? Yep it's true.

Yes 'tis and rumor is not rumor, it is true about NOT playing music and NOT singing until Mike Nesmith exploded and they dove headfirst into actually "being" what they were...and they WERE generational cool. Anyone remember Head??? I remember the album sized "one-way mirror" plastic promo sheets. Had dozens of 'em...wonder if they are rare or still out there
(the movie was, but..... ) Back to the original post...not me

http://www.snopes.com/music/artists/hendrix.aspI knew that he had opened for them Jeff, but that was a very interesting article. Can you imagine Mike Nesmith was in London having dinner with John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton? What a group!!

Don't disparage The Monkees!!! Their trainers & handlers maybe...
I make no excuses nor do I care what others think. I buy what moves me. Any category, any musician. Gnarls Barkley, Amy Winehouse, The Backstreet Boys (yes, that's right), even some Eminem. I also don't belittle other people's choices. I have 3 teenage grandchildren. We don't always share the same taste, but they like music and that's what matters. So, plug in the 8 track and turn it up!

Said so well, well, what can I say???

Hey that's a funky tune dagnabbit!
LOL....I have about 340 albums. Do you want me to name them all?
Yes.
Only kidding. 340 and not a bad one? Impressive. Kudos my man, kudos to you.
I'd say I've got 25 bad albums (about 5% of my collection).
Back to the original post...I've had MANY MANY that MANY of you would find displeasing to your pallette. I remember seeing this on TV http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu2xuknc … re=related and really liked it! But not this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu2xuknc … re=related (
). Yes that's actually Kurt Russell pre Escape From New York....
My sisters had Osmonds records as did my girlfriends, but i did not like them, except...The only record I ever had from The Osmonds was a 45 RPM single of Down By The Lazy River. No apology, no embarassment...You all are gonna be the ones embarassed when Joe actually covers this and I REALLY MEAN he could do it justice, you'll see.
Rock ON & Keep the Faith,
Rocket
But records I was embarassed of.... still thinking and I'll get back to the original post IF I can
Can't deny the Osmonds were kings when it came to harmonising.....even if the target market was teeny bopper.
I can honestly only recall buying one album (yes, in the vinyl days) that I detested so much that I got rid of it again - Lou Reed's 'Berlin'.

Ah, another of Nanny's soapboxes.
I'm sure glad you never tried to hit me with Eminem (spit) or Backstreet Boys (barf). (I apologize for 'belittling' these choices, I'm not as saintly as you are.)
