Re: The RAH story as seen through my eyes…..

Great idea Roy. But you are the King of grilling. I burn everything (can you say A.D.D.?) I want to sample all the foods you've described in your grilling thread! I remember the main ingredient is wine. I'll make the side dishes.
I also just found out that Bogie, Carmine and Rick didn't know about the party at Cocoon!!!! I told them they need to read the forum!! Next time!!       Cathy

(Sorry, pedant editor strikes again - they knew about the party, but they didn't know where it was - and yes, they should read the forum more often!)

Re: The RAH story as seen through my eyes…..

Roy

Thank you for the write up.
So much enjoyed it.
I love the kind of reviews we get on here where people share some of the detail that makes it personal and somehow more real.

It was a real pleasure meeting you Roy and all the other guys.
Such nice people.....and now we're scattered back all over the world.

A meet up for a picnic in the park the day after would have been great. The weather was beautiful.

I actually went back to the RAH to have another look.
I was so amazed at what happened the evening before.
Then I went and sat in the park with a sandwich and a drink next to the lake and just enjoyed the warm feeling before driving the 230 miles home.

So glad to have been a part of this.

Re: The RAH story as seen through my eyes…..

Thanks Ges! We too made it back to RAH after the show. However, we waited until Friday, May 8th to do it so we could sing Happy Birthday to Joe. One of the worst performances RAH has ever seen in its storied history! lol During our tour, we actually were allowed into the Queen's sitting room where she and her entourage wait until it's time to cross the hallway to her private box. In addition, the London Philharmonic was rehearsing for a show that night, so it was an added treat. I'll never forget that place nor what I saw there the two days I visited. smile

And Cathy, it's great cooking with wine!

A little wine for the grill and a little wine for the chef.....

A little more wine for the grill and a bit more for the chef....and so on.... and so on..... wink

Actually, I made a wonderful pork roast (bone included) on the grill last night and wine, sweet basil and granulated garlic were the main seasonings. I must say, it was sinfully good. I Love grilling!! big_smile

Wonderful review and a real labour of love, Roy. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us and I'm sorry for being late in responding - I'm still wading through my e-mails since my holiday.

It was great meeting you and I hope we can all do it again someday. We definitely need more time next time as I think we all missed speaking to a few Bonabuddies. hmm

Thank you Phil, it was my pleasure meeting you. And I also must thank both You and Michael for the extraordinary job planning and then hosting the RAH after-party at the Cocoon. What a classy way to end a very special day in all of our lives. You guys are the best!! smile

You're welcome, Roy (& everyone else wink ). If there is a next time - and I hope there is - we'll have to make sure everyone from the UK pays in advance for the get together . hmm

Yes Phil, it's such a shame that folks the from the UK who put their names to the list, some of whom ended up not coming - effectively preventing others and leaving the organisers to pick up the tab. I know one or two e--mailed their cancelleation in plenty of time, but it won't happen next time eh? Personal thanks go to those who put extra money in the hat on the night to help reduce the liability it helped enormously!
