Oh! JB is the best kept secret in music. It's sickening that lesser talent fills our radio waves, TV shows and record stores, whilst talent like this is ignored. On the other hand, it's not such a bad thing. It means that real music lovers can get to see real performers.
Seeing JB at Sheffield was my first time, and to describe him as awesome is an understatement.
I've posted my own views on http://www.hfgreenberg.co.uk/Music.html about midway down the page.
Fantastic! Can't wait until December, when I'll be going to Leeds, and probably will even take the Manilow fan with me.
Nice review howgre, now if you were free for the Royal Albert Hall on Monday I could let you have some unrestricted tickets for face value - that's if you think the trip would be worth it. I drove down to Shephers Bush and back in a night from Liverpool to see Joe - worth every mile!
Geoff, you should be able to guess that I'm one of those who finds out about everything the day after the event . Thanks very much (belatedly) for the offer. I would have taken it up too. And I suspect that it would have been a huge anticlamax. Having read numerous mixed reviews of the RAH show, I suspect that the extra effort of travelling to London would have resulted in me feeling cheated at the indifferent acoustics the RAH presents.
It's a huge shame that what was probably the crowning glory for Joe and the boys should be let down by an over-hyped establishment. One thing all the reviewers of that show are in agreement about was that any fault with the show was that of the RAH and NOT JB and band.
So, I'm both sorry I missed out, and in a sad way, glad.
But again, thanks for the offer.
