My point exactly, as far as Skynyrd is concerned, the music speaks for itself. What about all the other '70's bands that carry on their tradition with only sometimes one original member?????????????????? It's what you make it.

What does any of this have to do with Davy Knowles opening for Jeff Beck??????

When I was a child I spoke as a child, But all I heard was how I should get ahead,
Now growing up it ain't anything but all This indecision with these debts and doubts
And worries hanging over my head. When I was a child I spoke as a child,
I wish I could remember what I said.

Right on Suhl, we may not see eye to eye on Skynyrd, but we were making a relevant point.

Re: Davy Knowles opening for Jeff Beck....

Here's a news blast from Back Door Slam Headquarters:

"GREETINGS!
Hope you're all fine and dandy and 2009 is treating you well?

Most of you will have seen by now that tour dates have slowly been 'growing' on the website - there are a few more to add to the Summer dates so keep checking back on those. The summer line up will be 'Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam' - rehearsals are taking place with the band this week, and we'll be revealing the names of the musicians that'll be on tour as soon as know more ourselves...

Last week also saw the release of the exciting news that Davy will be supporting legendary guitar player JEFF BECK on his Spring Tour across America - again, all dates are listed on backdoorslam.com. Although it's a solo tour, Davy will be getting out his electric guitars during the set too, so it'll be a rocking gig! Although some of the dates are already sold out (check the ticket sales links on the gigs page) these shows will see the first public airing of some of the new material from the follow up album to 'Roll Away'.

Speaking of the new record, Davy has now finished in the studio and the album is almost ready for mixing & mastering. If you've been following him on twitter or myspace, you'll know that he had a great time working with Peter Frampton (one of his heroes!) and the album is sounding great. Here's an interview Davy conducted with Peter, en route to the studio (you can see other videos on Davy's myspace)

We're also finalising plans for a special Vinyl & digital download release - 'Live At Bonnaroo'. The BDS gig at the festival last year was one of the highlights of their touring together and, of course, features Adam and Ross, so this record is bound to be a collectors item in years to come! We'll let you know when we have a date for that, but keep checking the myspace and website too.

That's it for now - quite a bit going on in the world of Davy and Back Door Slam!
Thanks as ever for your continued support, hope to see you at a gig sometime, somewhere soon...

I'll pass.....be careful where you park, Bob.  I took my son up there for a Dream Theater show in '00 or '01 and when I came out to my car, passenger-side window was broken and my CD player and leather jacket were gone and there was glass all over the inside of the car....in February....brrrrr. ;-(

Have a blast.

This is a clip of Davy Knowles playing a song while supporting Jeff beck at the Fillmore 10th April.

You'll recognise the song, it's a song written by Tony Joe White and made famous by Rory Gallagher....

That link was to a John Hiatt song Slow Turning. Is there one to As The Crow Flies?

Oops, the person who filmed it said she'd captured As The Crow Flies, but as youtube is blocked on this pc I could not view the video before posting. Will let you know if I find another one (and will watch it first)

Thanks,

"approx 30 min for opening act. Aproc 30 min between opener & Jeff.  APprox 90 minute set for Jeff including encores...."

sounds like a plan. I assume you will be wearing a Joe B. shirt, hopefully that may spark some convos between JB fans and JB fans as I know of a few in your area. I'm interested in a report of the available merch as well if you don't mind.

Re: Davy Knowles opening for Jeff Beck....

I caught the Jeff Beck Show at the Boston House of Blues and was very impressed by Davy Knowles.
Unfortunately, it was only an acoustic set. I was hoping to see him play electric.
He did a great version of John Hiatt's "Slow Turnin".
Hall of Famer Beck was amazing.
He did the Beatle's "A Year in the Life" and for an encore "Peter Gunn".
Those alone were worth the price of admission.
Just an FYI, if you're going to the House of Blues in Boston get there EARLY!
If you don't have a reserved seat, you'll be standing and spending most of your time looking around other peoples heads.
It was kind of frustrating after spending close to $50 on a ticket and you don't have a great view.
