Topic: Don't make the same mistake I did...

I waited way too long to pick up the new Tesla DVD, "Comin' Atcha Live 2008 !"  The performance and sound are great !  The set list is full of classics, a few new ones and a performance of UFO's "Rock Bottom" that I just can't get enough of.

Anyone else been sittin' on the fence like me, pick this one up !

Re: Don't make the same mistake I did...

Brett,

Hi my Tesla Buddy.  I am so glad you got it and are enjoying it.  Being a UFO fan I was thrilled when they put that on the DVD.  They did 2 albums of cover songs.   The first one is Real to Reel and that includes the song Rock Bottom.  The next disc is Real to Reel Vol. 2 and has 12 songs which are covers.  The 12th song being War Pigs.

Do you have either of these or both of them?  If you do which are some of your favorites?

Keep on Rockin smile

Re: Don't make the same mistake I did...

I've got about everything Tesla's done, including Real to Reel.  Rock Bottom is among my favorites along with "Do You Feel Like We Do."  I still spin that disc at least every other week.

What's weird is that I went in to buy a new album, I was going to get the new Chris Cornell, new Mastodon, or the new Yngwie album.  I was going back and forth and I saw the Tesla DVD and said enough of this, I'm going to buy it.  Right after picking up the DVD I saw a remastered "Strangers in the Night" CD, so I grabbed that too.  I hadn't noticed that "Rock Bottom" was on the DVD yet and when I saw the clip with Brian holding up the UFO album I thought it was pretty cool "Rock Karma" that I had picked up the same album.

I can't believe how tight the guitars are on the performance.  The sound is just amazing and Frank sure does justice to Mr. Schenkers tune !

Re: Don't make the same mistake I did...

Well that's just too cool Brett.  So you have alot of cool music going on.  When Michael Schenker & Uli John Roth were here Frank was at that show. Maybe he picked up something there. I really enjoyed the covers Tesla picked out.  Frank does justice to a lot of songs.  Peter Frampton is one of his influences so I love it when he uses the talk box big_smile

Since you have Tesla, then do you have the new CD, Forever More?
It Rocks.  My particular favorite at the moment is Fallin' Apart.  I just can't get enough of that song right now.

Yep, got the new one.  What a weird cover for Tesla, huh ?  I just saw the video for "Fallin Apart" on their website yesterday, check it out !  cool

"Just In Case" and "Fallin Apart" are probably my faves !

Knowing Tesla they will probably be back through the area before the years out.

Re: Don't make the same mistake I did...

Just a note from afellow "Teslarite" in Germany. the band are here 1st July in Hamburg. Can't wait to catch them. Will be my first time. R2R was a brilliant album. Classic Rock mag did a freebie sampler which really whetted the appetite at the time.

Should be a good start to a summer of rock!

Re: Don't make the same mistake I did...

Hey Brett,

One thing I love about Tesla is they keep making videos.  And I am a big fan of their videos.  So much so that I have the Dvd of the video "Fallin' Apart" big_smile   That particular video has a lot of meaning for me.

Welcome Hansamike to Tesla,

What are your particular favorites from those albums?

I do want to let you know that Tesla has a new album, Forever More.  So a number of the songs they should perform in concert in Germany will be from the new album.  At least that is what I saw here in the U.S.  They might change the setlist for the European Tour, but I think this will be the case of them featuring the new songs, just for your information.  They also had some of their classics in there.  With Tesla, you never know what they might throw in.  They always have a great setlist.
And they always Rock! There a great band and a great bunch of fellows who put on a great show, so you should have a Rock-tastic time big_smile
