Topic: Campaign for Return to Salt Lake

Hey neighbors!  If you saw Joe play the Depot March 14th, I'm sure you're feeling the same way I am: we've gotta bring him back, and soon!  If you missed the show, I can only imagine the deep, gnawing despair you must be feeling!

Well, here's my plan to address both situations: I noticed that the Red Butte Summer Concert schedule hasn't fleshed out through late summer yet, and Joe will be back from Europe in August with several dates scheduled in the states.  I've contacted Red Butte's concert promoter, Chris Mautz, and informed him of this promising coincidence -- and you can do the same!  I warned Chris that I was starting a campaign to bring Joe back.  He tells me he is a fan of Joe's and doesn't mind being the target of such a campaign.

So, let's let Chris know how serious local Bonamassites are about bringing Joe to Red Butte Gardens later this summer!  Send Chris an e-mail expressing your support of this idea, and ask your friends, co-workers, family to do the same!  So far, I've gotten four others to e-mail Chris, some of whom have also asked people they know to join in!

Chris Mautz's email address:  chris.mautz@redbutte.utah.edu

Be sure to post back here to let everyone know how many people have joined the campaign, and share any responses from Chris!

Many thanks!

Re: Campaign for Return to Salt Lake

Hey, missed the recent show at the Depot here in Salt Lake but I won't miss another.  Red Butte is an amazing place for a show with his sound and feel.  Let's do it.
I love a variety of music but it must Kick A!  Tickets for Chris Duarte Wednesday night  in a small venue.  And Chris Cornell in April

Let's "k" some "A" and have Bonamassa at Red Butte to add to a bitchen  summer.

Rock it!

Re: Campaign for Return to Salt Lake

Hello all-

I e-mailed Chris too. He said that he was at the show and that Joe has been on his radar for some time now. I also included Joe's management contact info. Let's all keep up the campaign! I love concerts at Red Butte, it is a beautiful venue! Tell all your fellow blues enthusiasts!

Ciao,

Bluesgirl

Re: Campaign for Return to Salt Lake

Right on Bluesgirl!  Nice to know that Chris already had Joe "on his radar."  Now, if we can just get him to move the idea from his radar to his schedule!  I also thought about contacting Joe's management to let them know what a beautiful and intimate venue Red Butte is ... probably worth putting it on their radar as well!

The biggest reason I'm hoping this works out -- beyond getting to see Joe play again -- is I can take my 12 yr-old son to Red Butte.  He's really into a lot of Joe's songs on my iPod, and I just know he'd be an even bigger fan if he got to see Joe live -- you know what I mean!  What better way to keep the blues alive than to introduce Joe to the next generation?

Tell all your friends!  Let's keep it up!
