Topic: Hello Everyone

Hi, i'm John from Buenos Aires (Argentina). First of all, sory for my poor english, i'm still learning as my natural language is spanish.
I've discovered Joe's music last year while reading a few comments about him on Gary Moore's videos in youtube.
I could not consider myself a "fan", but someone who respects Joe Bonamassa very much and who sees in him not only a great present but specially a great future as a musician.
I'm also a guitar player and a blues rock lover. I think that after Moore, Joe is the one who'll deservedly continue carrying the flag. I just wanna keep enjoying his music, improvisations, and everything else he can offer to his fans and all music lovers.
last thing i want to say is that my biggest dream will become true the day i see joe and gary playing together...are there any chances at all?

goodbye !

Re: Hello Everyone

Hi John, welcome to the forum!  Your English is fine!  The only Spanish I speak is "mas cervesa por favor?" but that is all I really need to know I think!

Joe is a fan and a friend of Gary. Although Joe plays quite a few different genres of blues, I think his heart is really in with the "British blues". He plays a few Jimmy Page licks in his songs and if you have heard his version of "Tea for One" I think Joe outdoes JP, but of course I'm biased.

I am seeing both Gary and Joe play in London only two days and a mile or so apart.  My hope is that Joe does indeed ask Gary to be guest onstage at the Royal Albert Hall.  But who knows?

Please continue to visit the forum. We need Street Teamers in South America to promote Joe and his music. You never know, some day Joe might be playing in Buenos Aires!

Major Tom to ground control...

Re: Hello Everyone

thanks both for your replies!
I have to tell you that i made the mistake of comparing Joe with Gary too many times, until i realised that music isn't about that.
I've also read in a magazine what Gary thinks about Joe and his musical direction. I think it was a valid advice but i do not agree entirely. I think Joe has to keep doing what he does.
I'll continue visiting the forum because i find it more than interesting. Unfortunately, Joe remains almost unknown in my country. Actually, i'm showing a lot of his stuff to many friends i have because i think he's an artist who deserves to be very well known.

Re: Hello Everyone

Youtube has around 6 tirllion videos of joe, some good stuff too.

Re: Hello Everyone

A warm welcome from me too, Tripod!!

As you may know our  future queen Maxima , the wife of Prince Willem- alexander is from Argentina so that's the first thing that connects us.
( but actually I don't care at all about the Royal family)

But much more important: Joe is now our connection too!!! As Michael asked: How is the musicscene in your country.
As you said Joe is not too wellknown, so along way to go for you in promoting!!
A Argentinastreetmember would be great: you can send melissa Durse an email for information.

I'm from holland and the first time I saw Joe was 5 years ago and nobody knew him then, but  I've seen him becoming a real Bluesstar overhere now and because of our help from fans too in promoting. We still do.
If you want me to send you some Joestuff let me know (only things you can't buy in shops or website from Joe). Maybe you can show that in Argentina and people will buy Joe's CD/DVD's.
You can email to me for your address.

Re: Hello Everyone

Welcome to Joe's forum Tripod. Nice to have somebody here from your part of the world.
Keep spreading the word!

Tripsy smile

Re: Hello Everyone

Welcome Tripod,

Let me say that you do a better job of speaking english than some folks I know that speak english as their native language.  It is wonderful to know that you have become aware of Joe.  Joe's fanbase has grown year by year mainly from people that were introduced to him from someone else.  You said that you have shown his stuff to friends.  This is great,  keep spreading the word.  smile

hi michael!

blues scene in argentina is quite poor, but there are 2 guitar players that are really good and well known in the country....

Alambre Gonzalez:

Rafael Nasta:

but the best guitar player is Luis Salinas... he's just amazing...technique, feeling, everything....

Re: Hello Everyone

Hi Tripod.

A belated welcome from me.
Just catching up on the welcome page.

Don't worry about the language.
Keep posting.

I was a massive Gary fan but have tired of him over recent years.
He needs some good press.
