That's good to know smile Yeah, some of the standing concerts I've been to the people have gotten kind of crazy. Oh yeah, I'm sure I'll be standing and singing! I hope I can get some pictures too. Have you seen them before? And if you have, what were the security people like? Maybe it was just the venues I've been at, but when I went to see Bob Dylan, the security people were on high alert and I wasn't able to get many pictures...

But aww man, I just realized the day of my concert is the last day of the class I'm taking sad I hope I can get out in time

I have seen them lots of times and never had a problem.  They are a very cool band.   Now I am not sure what security is going to be like.  Sometimes it depends on the artist, and sometimes it depends on the venue, or the security person.  Alot of people bring camera phones to concerts, so I don't think you should have any problem.  Kind of let other people take pictures first, and see how the security is with those people.  As long as you don't act like the paparazzi, I don't think it should be a problem.

Good Luck in your studies. The main thing is to go and have a fun-tastic time.  Especially if it is the last day of class.  big_smile

Re: Bad Company To Tour In 2009

Good news, River! I was able to get a ticket, so now I'm going to the show!!!! big_smile

Now I've got another question for you... Do the Bad Company guys usually throw guitar picks or maybe drum sticks out into the audience?

Re: Bad Company To Tour In 2009

Enjoy Bad Company smile

I've not read it on the forum, but it has been announced that Paul Rodgers and Queen have gone their separate ways.

All Right Jovi!  Thats a great way to celebrate the last day of school.  What a thrill.

Mick has thrown some guitar picks out but mostly close to the front.  I really hope you are on the same side as him and maybe will be able to get one of those.  I think you will have such a fun and rocking time.  You really are getting to see a great band and you will be privilaged to hear one of the purest voices that has ever graced this planet in Paul Rodgers.  I think you will recognize a lot of songs and you'll get to hear Mick's Rock Anthem Guitar in your song.  Wave those hands in the air and have a Blast big_smile

Good to know. I'm pretty sure I will be on his side. I saw some other Bad Company videos on YouTube and it seems like he has stayed on the side that Section 101 will be on.

But this is weird... I just looked on Ticketmaster again tonight to see if any more seats had sold in the section I'm going to be in, and I was thinking "what in the world happened?" because the last time I had checked, the Orchestra 2 section right in the front was grey, meaning sold out, but now, that section is green, with 12 seats that just opened up(not all in the same row, either)? What's up with that?

I guess I should just be happy I'm going to the show, lol roll . My Dad said the ticket should arrive by Saturday, but if I call the venue, do you know if I might be able to trade up my ticket for a seat in the Orchestra 2 section since the price for my section and Orchestra 2 are the same? Though with the 3D map that Live Nation gives, http://www.livenation.com/venue/verizon … r-tickets/  they make my section look pretty close, so I don't know...

Re: Bad Company To Tour In 2009

Well, my final exam is in about an hour...(wish me luck on that one, I know I'll need it, lol hmm )

But then the concert is today, so I can't wait!!! big_smile big_smile

Re: Bad Company To Tour In 2009

Hey everbody!

Remember that one song... Bad Company? By that band... Bad Company? Off the album... Bad Company!???
Could they have thought of another topic?

I like to 'hate' on that every now and then... even though it's good. The concept is just funny to me. cool

Well it looks like I AM doing the Bad Company/Doobie Brothers show at Bethel Woods this Sat... it's kind of a haul, but I was lured with 10th row center seats, tee hee... oh, and check back here for a download link afterwards too. wink

Have fun at your show tonight, JoviGoo! smile

Re: Bad Company To Tour In 2009

I just want to say, wow, that was a great show!!!

The Doobie Brothers were good(I even recognized some of their songs); the bass player was fun to watch(his bass even had red lights on its neck, so that was cool), and Bad Company was really great!!!!! They played all of the great ones: "Can't Get Enough", "Rock Steady", "Run With The Pack", "Rock And Roll Fantasy", "Feel Like Makin' Love", "Movin' On", "Ready For Love", and "Bad Company". They even played some I'd not heard before: "Burning Sky", "Seagull"(The front of Paul's guitar with this one was so pretty. It looked like a sunset on the water with stars and the moon in a dark night sky. I wish I could have gotten a picture of it...), "Electricland", "Simple Man", and "Young Blood"(that one was fun to hear with the "what's your name? what's your name? what's your name? what's your name?" and "she's the one, she's the one, she's the one, she's the one" bits, lol). And the night definitely would not have been complete without hearing "Shooting Star"!!! That one was really really great! They had this disco ball spinning around during it, and Paul got the audience to sing some lines. Everybody was singing to that one. And it was funny at the end of the song, Simon lost one of his sticks and it bounced across the stage lol I don't remember if it actually made it into the audience, though, lol...

Paul really likes to twirl his microphone stand around, hahaha cool . That was fun to watch. He even threw it up in the air a few times and caught it! That was cool. I don't think I've seen any/many bands with frontmen that do that...

There was also a second guitarist playing with Bad Company, named Howard Leese. Paul had said he was from the band Heart.

All in all, it was a great great show and I had a lot of fun big_smile . I hope Bad Company doesn't stop touring for a long long time. I know I'll want to go see them again.

I was only able to get one picture of Bad Company and one picture of the Doobie Brothers; Didn't want security to take my camera sad   I'll be putting up a link in the next few days.

How was your show, Vik?

Re: Bad Company To Tour In 2009

Hey JoviGoo,

How was the concert?  Was Mick on your side?  Did they play "Shooting Star"?

The concert was really great!! big_smile big_smile  Yes, we were right, River, Mick was on my side. I wasn't very close, but at least from where I was, the performers weren't as small as ants, lol! Yes, they played "Shooting Star".

I wrote out a short review of the concert that was the last post on the second page of this topic. I hope TieDyeVikki will post about her concert experience, too. I can't wait to hear about it and what it was like for another person. wink

Re: Bad Company To Tour In 2009

Thanks for the review Joovigoo. I bet that show had a really good 'feel good' factor. Such well known songs that everybody can sing along to, especially Shooting Star.
Burning Sky is a great track, one of the lesser known ones but one of my faves.
It's a real shame that they are not going to play the UK sad
The Doobie brothers are fantastic too, two great bands in one show.....fantastic!

Tripsy smile

Re: Bad Company To Tour In 2009

JoviGoo, I meant to report back here long ago, sorry.  For the longest time I just wasn't in the posting mood, and then I forgot about it, til just now.  Anyway, my show was great too... both bands were really in top form both musically and vocally... nice and tight, energetic, and they looked like they were having fun.  I forgot how many good Doobie Brothers songs there are... in fact the same goes for Bad Company... it was like a "best of" show for both of them, no new material... and in this case that was a good thing, I think.

Honestly, JoviGoo, after reading your review, I had to double-check which show you'd gone to, because I swear, you could've been describing MY show, right down to the part at the end about the drumstick!  Sounds like they stick to a pretty rehearsed show, lol, but we both got great shows, and that's all that matters. smile

I took LOTS of really good pics, of both bands... but I have yet to transfer ANY of my digital phots to my computer, let alone upload them to a photo-hosting site so I can post them anywhere.  My hard drive is currently full, so I have to take care of that issue first... one of these days I'll get my crap together in the computer department, ugh... roll

Oh, and I promised links to my taper friend's recordings... they sound fantastic as usual... unfortunately these are not links to listen, only to download... and I'm guessing they probably won't have seeders anymore... but I'll still post them anyway, just incase...

Bad Company:  http://www.dimeadozen.org//torrents-det … ?id=255367  (Hey, this one still has 7 seeders, as of now! smile)

Doobie Brothers:  http://www.dimeadozen.org//torrents-det … ?id=255369  (No seeders. sad)

OR, both together:  http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/sho … hp?t=73881  (I can't view this one because I don't have an account there.)

That's ok, Vik. (Can I call you Vik? lol) I too kind of forgot that I had said I would put a link up to my photos... Yesterday I thought I might as well check back here to see if there was anything new, and to my surprise I saw your reply!

Good to hear that your show was great, too. Yeah, I was kind of happy Bad Company did all of their hits and not new stuff.

I guess they do have a pretty rehearsed show, then, if even the part about the drum stick was  the same, lol!! And awww man, lol, I thought that was just a goof thing that happened by mistake at just my show!!! roll

And there was this one part with Bad Company, before the beginning of "Seagull", some airplanes or jets or something were flying overhead and Paul must have heard it because he asked the crowd, "What's that?" and made this "whooooosssshhh whooooosssshhh"-ing sound(the sound the jet made, lol). The crowd screamed back "jet!!!" or something and then Paul said something back, but I don't remember what... That was funny!

I can't wait to see your pictures smile   Please do let us know when you've put them on your computer!

With that link to your friend's stuff, what is a seeder?

And as promised, here's a link to the two pictures I took. The Bad Company one is kind of blurry, but you can see their logo and the smoke and stuff...
