but if you are still considering it, Dulles is an International airport http://www.metwashairports.com/dulles farther away but if for some reason there is an affordable flight to there , or Reagan national http://www.metwashairports.com/reagan or Philly http://www.phl.org/ , then ground trasportation to the area wouldn't be that much or among us bonabuddies could possibly provide .
just a little more info
and i still can't wait to find out what Joe's tour schedule around this date is going to be.

still alot of time smile

This is more pertinent info

George

I understand, it could be a bit of a logistical nightmare. Got a few issues to work out first on this side before I can even think of travelling later on. Got some share options coming to me, need to check on the waiting time etc etc, Mother has to make sure she can be available to sit the kiddies for a week smile Then the costs! Head hurts already LOL

Lets see how it goes, it does sound like a damn fine event to be making all that trouble for smile

Fingers Crossed, and if not, something will be planned for the states in the Future, too many of you over there(I know your in Dam, but peggin you as a honarary Marylander now, by association)

BTW, wifey has some family just outside Amsterdam, anything good going on this year hta people will be going to? That would be no trouble, and hardly any cost to myself, so that is another thing on the list smile

I'll be there with my better 1/2 Katie and  our daughter Emma plus 2  friends  Dave and Christine
We'll be arriving Friday and leaving Sunday. It's a long drive from Massachusetts but this line-ups

Count me and Kendi in for Hot August Blues as a definite....and for Bonnie on the lawn as a maybe.

Can we set up a Bonabuddy jam session with PA, drums and bass?  Maybe Friday night?  I'd love to hear one of the JBLPs through Spider's 2555 clone <hint, hint>

CarljMD

Sorry but I don't have a 2555 clone. Never have.

Regardless I'll be at HAB!

Around 30 now plus kids and friends, looking good. Cathy suggested that we should have a flag for the festival ground - sounds like a great idea to me.

Ok, so who's going to organize the name tags? tongue

Man, 50 replies and it's not even June yet! hmm

Re: Hot August Blues Festival

Hey George, we may have to fly Phil over to handle the name tag thing. LOL!

Duncan, if you and Mrs. Greenose can handle 30+ degree heat and high humidity we would love to see you there! (hopefully it will be cooler!)
We hope to have a spot staked out under the trees that day.

Re: Hot August Blues Festival

What's this under the trees thing?  Is the stage under the trees?  I know where I want to be!

I think Duncan and Phil and their wonderful spouses should plan on coming.  Let's try for Tripsy and Simon, too.  And Michael, and Geoff, and .........            big_smile

I think the plan is to hide under the trees during the mid-afternoon heat and then bull our way through the mosh pit to the front just before BDS takes the stage. wink  Of course you're welcome to bake in the sun all day if you wish! Nurse Cathy probably has seen a few sunstroke victims in her day... tongue

Re: Hot August Blues Festival

There's enough of us to claim space in front of the stage as well as a "relief" site in the shade. And, believe me, we will want shade! Early Bird discounts stop June 1st. Here's the complete line-up. I am of the opinion that JB should be last.....I know you all feel the same....Cathy

8:00-10:00 - Derek Trucks Band
6:00-7:30 - Joe Bonamassa
4:00-5:30 - Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam
3:15-3:45 - Batala Percussion Band
1:45-3:00 - Chopteeth
12:15-1:15 - Old Man Brown

Re: Hot August Blues Festival

There will be a definate drop in energy level after Joe's set. If Derek wants the crowd to hang he might want to ask Joe to stick around and Join him for the encore.

Bought our tickets.  We'll be driving up from Florida to New York the week before to spend time with Ken's brother.  So, we're also taking in the show at the Bergen PAC in Englewood, NJ.  We're bringing 3 or 4 newbies to that show. Then, we'll be stopping by the festival on the way home.  Look forward to meeting everyone there.  cool
