Topic: Joe in Cortemaggiore, Italy 26-11-2008
Hi all, newbie to the forum (but not to Joe!!)
My eventual mother-in-law (samjp4) was nice enough to pay for me to go to this show while I was studying abroad in Italy, on the condition that I took a metric ton of pictures and then posted on the forum.
So, anywho, wicked nice theatre: big, wide open space, interesting lighting, good acoustics. It was "first-come-first-serve-push-people-out-of-the-way" seating, so I got there rather early to see if I could atleast pick up my tix to avoid the whole language-barrier issue. Unfortunately, no dice, but I still managed to get pretty decent fourth-row center after elbowing my way through the Italian Que.
The opening guy was pretty cool (unfortunately I have no idea what his name was).
Then Joe comes out and I commence Operation Shutter Bug. The show was great, it felt kinda funny not having to concede best position to samjp4 (she's probably going to whack me one for that). One of the best versions of Sloe Gin I've heard (and I've heard it... a lot).
After the show, somebody came up and asked me if I was on the forum, I forget his name, but "hi!"
Oh, and the people at the Fillmore were awesome, they helped me call a cab (since my Italian isn't stellar at that time of night) and when the cab company wouldn't pick up, management snagged a security guy who lived in the town I was going back to to give me a ride. Wicked nice of them, they didn't have to do that.
Alrighty then, here's the link to the (demanded) pic's. Enjoy!!!
