Re: Favourite song of ALL TIME!

Man, how can it be narrowed down to one song?

OK, Joe is a no brainer, "Mountain Time-Live". One of only two songs that make me tear up at the end.

Back Door Slam "Stay" including the chat that I had with Davy regarding this song. The only song other than "Mountain Time" that makes me get choked up. Otherwise, I really love "Gotta Leave".

Rory Gallagher "In Your Town" off of the "Live in Europe" album.

Albert Cummings "Together as One" done live off his current album "Feel So Good Live".

And that my friends, is my list.

OHHHH good, one, I think probably 2 or 3 on my list.

But I would have to say that my favorite as of the writing of this is ... "Baby I love you" by Bonnie Raitt and BB King.  I could change my mind any minute though.

As for JB songs - I couldn't possibly pick a fav.  Okay, so I do occasionally.  But overall, they are all my favorites and belong to a category of their own!

Hi Kristine,
congrats for your number 2 or 3. "Baby I love you" should be then a real killer song. Sadly enough I have never heard it although I appreciate Bonnie Raitt and BB King. So would you please tell me where to find it.

Heres my favorite songs of all time....

Thank God i found you....
Where is the love
Trading my sorrows
I could sing of your love forever

Re: Favourite song of ALL TIME!

This is a tricky one - it changes like the wind, but one that's always been up there for me is "Won't Get Fooled Again" by the Who.

It always evokes memories of windmilling my air guitar at The Highwayman Rock Disco back in the seventies. lol

Never thought I'd let the world in on that one!

Please be in no doubt that this is the REAL ME! Beware imposters........................

Re: Favourite song of ALL TIME!

My Sweet Lord by dear George Harrison.

Yes, I love the blues, in fact I love all kinds of music,  if it's good it's good but 'the quiet one's' music reaches into my soul more than any other and brings some peace and love whenever I need it most. I feel a connection, maybe it's because of my age and where I am in my life. I've said many times that I'm just an old hippy and I suppose I'm of an age where my priorities have changed. I make no excuse for my frailties or shortcomings. I make no excuse for my feelings or beliefs. I don't have to any more. They're mine and I've earned them. I have the scars to prove it

So, take all my albums away if you must but leave me the one's that George made. They resonate in my heart more than any other and this song does so more than the rest.

And that is my reason for this choice. My choice. My Sweet Lord.

Re: Favourite song of ALL TIME!

Simple songs with dynamics do it for me like:

"More Than A Feeling - Boston
"Behind Blue Eyes - The Who
but I still maintain my all time fave is....

"Reeling In The Years", something about that riff....

Re: Favourite song of ALL TIME!

Mike,

You may already know this but on the remastered Who's Next cd there is an alternate version of "Behind Blue Eyes".  Personally, I like this version better than the original because it's less polished.  The rougher sound seems more appropiate with the song's message.

Re: Favourite song of ALL TIME!

Thought I'd never hear this song again, but the magic of iTunes has re-connected me with Herbie Mann's "Push Push".  Jazz/ R&B/Funk featuring Herbie and some guy called Duane on guitar.
