Re: Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Registry (Serial Numbers "BONAMASSA XXX")

Unfortunately i dont own one ( sigh sad )  But here's a thought,
Wouldn’t it be fantastic to have a Joe convention and have all you guys and gals on stage with your JBLP’s  having a jam. I suppose we could invite Joe too  wink

Tim V   #174...9.0lbs...still a very nice guitar...my favorite.

Heres a pic of it as well as a real cool rig...CAT5 JB Plexi 50 Watter and a CAT5 1900 housed in larger enclosure, also a 50 Watter, played through Lehle switcher and various delays/reverbs etc. Can it get a Joe sound, very close for sure! And yes the cab is VERY close to one of Joes, vertically split internally and populated with Celestion 12-65s.
DonR at Category Five was very instrumental in getting this rig built...thanx Don!!!

Also a short clip of me doing Bridge To Better Days

CURRENTLY: CAT5 JB PLEXI 50W, CAT5 1900 50W, Split 4x12 cab.
Fender Strat, Tele. Gibson LP including ole #174 JB Goldtop...

In heaven right now with the CAT5 rig!!!

Re: Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Registry (Serial Numbers "BONAMASSA XXX")

Re: Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Registry (Serial Numbers "BONAMASSA XXX")

FROM 5678clintHello all this is my first post on here so thought I'd let you know, I have JB LP No.44 bought from vintage and rare guitars of denmark street London, an awsome shop and Joe was only in there a couple of weeks ago checking out some cool vintage stuff... amps, pedals and of course guitars galore.Thought I'd put the record straight for some of you all about the availability of the JB LPs.This info came directly from my friend who runs Macaris musical instruments of Charing cross road, London. There is only 300 currently made in the gibson custom shop, the first 250 are the aged finish lie mine and the last 50 are all sparkly like new reffered to as the glossy JB LP by dealers who have them which technically makes them the rarest but like Joe I like mine all beaten up looking... Also most of the first 50 aged guitars were signed by Joe on the certificate of authenticity inside as part of promotions at shows that Joe attended along with some of the guitars, I believe Joe owns No1, No2, N0.3 and No.51 and the original prototype of course which was the guitar he was holding on the front cover of Guitarist magazine (uk) during his first appearance on the front cover.Hope this helps and look forwards to reading everyones great stories and posts. Cheers Clint wink

Re: Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Registry (Serial Numbers "BONAMASSA XXX")

Spider started this thread and i think it's about time it was organised a wee bit better ... plus i've been trawling the various guitar shops worldwide and have come up with about another 20 or so JBLP'S @ Shops and with the posts here we can start a database like Brian May's Forum he has a one there

Soon to be updated

Clint. welcome aboard! Maybe say hello in the introducing section too?
This is a great place to hang around and Joe himself chimes in every here and now.

Michael, in fact I have made a list like on the BM owners list started already.
I took all infos from this thread. Unfortunaly some folks here keep their
country or real name hidden (only forum name is visible..).
But it would be cool to see who has one and where has it gone.
I keep on..

Re: Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Registry (Serial Numbers "BONAMASSA XXX")

I'm sure I read somewhere that Lewis Hamilton is a rabid Joe Fan and was one of the first to grab a gold top as he plays himself. The F1 circus are all big fans after Bahrain last year! Now wouldn't it be interesting if he was on this board and we didn't know????????

Re: Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Registry (Serial Numbers "BONAMASSA XXX")

Is it possible that if demand was high and the 300 get sold out that Gibson would crank out some more?

My thought is yes but only glossies.

Re: Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Registry (Serial Numbers "BONAMASSA XXX")

This is true, I have a family member who plays good great guitar, he has a band and the singer is a well known Touring car champion, they sometimes do the after race parties. Its not uncommon for the drivers to join in with the band for a jam session. I know Lewis is a Joe fan for sure would not surprise me if he has one. If the band is playing his year I should be be able to find out. It's a cool gig.

I maintain that Gibson will do ANYTHING for enough money. They wouldn't turn down an offer for 15 grand to make ONE more JB LP.

If they were to make more though I would prefer them to be glossies...never been a fan of this authentic aged thing, I'd rather age it myself. Every scratch and dent on my Les Paul is MY fault and I love it smile
