Does anyone have these "marks" on the frets of their JB GTs? I bought the guitar used, but I imagine it came this way from Gibson.

Can't wait to check out 281 - we can get a picture of 043 266 and 281 all together i.e Aged, Un-aged and Blue all in a row :-)

Oh Pete that would be a hell of a sight! See what you can do!
Well it happened and all three Bonamassa LPs assembled in one room for photos

Great stuff. Is everything else the same on the blue one (ie. hardware, neck, etc.)?

I had a look on my JBLP and there are no marks like on yours.
It looks strange to me like they had filled holes in the fretboard.
But I wouldn't mind too much as long as it doesn't affect sound
or playability.

Very much so! All beautiful. Are you leaning towards a favorite yet? Any differences in playing? Tone?
Jim
Well I didn't get an awful lot of time with the Blue one, the Gold ones are my own. In addition the Blue one came fitted with 10s which in combination with the top wrap makes the tension feel quite low. But even with 10s it a big sound and lots of clarity in the low end.
Really don't have a favourite they are all slightly different but great.

#131 is on eBay right now.

Yes. The Gibson logo is moved down so differentiates it from R7/R8/R9 Historics. On both the Glossy gold and the Blue one it is impossible to see that the back is two pieces. Even the side position markers are the faded black/red colour on all three. It's almost like they have made all 300 and are now just finishing them in different colours. The only surprise is that as John, the owner said previously, it has "JOE B" on the back of the headstock whereas every other one I have seen have "BONAMASSA". Oh and it has the historic amber switch tip instead of black.
I got my aged one signed by Joe in Edinburgh last year and related John's episode with the broken headstock to Joe, he told me then that Gibson had sent his Blue one with cream hardware. I assume that he has changed it back to black from the recent London pictures.

Ciao Pete59, do you think that Joe played the blue one at the Gibson hall?
http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyle/A … assa-0218/
If you look this pitcure this guitar seems to be Black and with different knobs.
What do you think? Maybe the JBLP version 2...

Yes he did. Reportedly, it looked black in photos but was candy apple blue with binding. There are supposed to be 3 in that color.
Here is a better pic of said Blue Bonamassa...

Yeah I noticed the different knobs too. My guess is that Joe just thought they looked cool and changed them.
I'm 99% sure from photos I've taken that one of Joe's aged JBLPs now has cream fittings. It kind of makes sense from a practical point of view. i.e it makes Guitar Tech Dave's job easier to identify the correct guitar in relative darkness.
Re 3 Blue ones.... 276 was/is definitely Blue because my friend John bought it but the headstock was broken in transit. That guitar has now been repaired and sold at discount. Gibson made a replacement and that is the one I photographed, it carries 281 as it's serial No. Somewhere further up this thread there's a post about a Blue one on eBay. That one had serial no 28x - the last digit had been blurred. My assumption had been that 276 - 280 were Blue with 281 added by an order to replace 276.
Anyhow I'm off to do some trainspotting now - A joke which possibly will not be understood outside of the UK... :-)

Ciao

JBLP#115
I was lucky enough to get #11.
It has a darker character than the LP goldtops I have come across and is just a killer tone.
Cheers

Nice git for a first poster. Why don't you jump over to the intro page and tell us something about how you got to know Joe and about yourself.
For the Blue Lester fans, Joe played this instead of his Vee (at least) at the Moscow shows in the Just Got Paid ensemble, so he must have taken it with him from Europe. Check the thread with the link by the Russian Forum member for a look at this in action. Killer tone!
Rick
Sounds like the Blue Paul will be Joe's main squeeze for awhile here...God I'll say it again that is one sexy guitar!
