Here is the story. Joe in response to people that complained about the black pickguards and surrounds he replaced the black with cream on #52 for a few bucks. So If you like the Joe B Signature but the black doesn't trip your trigger that is what they look like with cream.
He also has grown to prefer #52 of all the ones he currently owns. It is easier to recognize it in the dark I suppose.
I wanted to add #27 to the registry. It lives in Northwest Arkansas.
I have never played a Paul with wrap over strings before and have used super slinky gauge strings forever.
But I do love the tone on this guitar plugged in or just playing unplugged. It rings and sustains.
I also like the way the guitar is balanced - I think this is due to the grover machine heads.
Everything about the design of this guitar is intentional and well thought out - all of it working together for again great tone.
I comparing to another guitar (Gibson R9 LP) without the wrap over and with the Kluson machine heads. May just have to convert it.
Overall a great design by Joe and and great build by Gibson

I'm not sure which brand of strings Joe is using these days, maybe Warren can chime in? I'll take a wild stab and say Dean Markley 11-52s. I had put a fresh set of of Coated Beefy Slinkys (11-54 w/ wound G) on mine just before I had Joe sign it. I think he liked those.
Anyhow, welcome to the forum, and if you read up in this thread a bit you can see the distribution of JBLPs (as far as we all know). #28 is still in Chicago if you want two consecutive numbers

He used to use Dean Markley, but I know somewhere on the board he said he switched to Ernie Ball Strings within this year.

Joe thanks Ernie Ball in his RAH DVD booklet. The Dean Markley site says that he uses their strings. Only JB knows for sure!

As part of improvement I'd like to see this as a complete list
that goes #1-#300. It could be updated from time to time?
For me its interesting to see where all the JBLPs have gone.

It would be cool to see a list like you suggest Stratovari (and also like Michael did for the street team members who were going to see Joe at the RAH--he updated it from time to time and it appeared as the first item in the thread so people wouldn't have to read through all posts and put 2 and 2 together).
For this project there would have to be two lists:
#1-50 for the non-aged ones.
#1-300 for the aged ones.
I think I've got that right.

You can't beat the tone of a Gigliotti Guitar (especially when you hear Joe play one that he set up exactly how he likes it to sound)!
Joe plays the Gigliotti in the Live at Rockpalast DVD (which also is a very worth purchase)!

Michael, if you Look closer then you see that the last digit
is colored black. So it must be one of #270 - 279.
Anyway I didn't hear about different colors tham gold.

Well - you knew I had to post a reply.
I haven't ever heard of other colors either - I have not see anything but Gold on the Gibson site
Some observations:
Fretboard on mine is much darker
Some metal parts seem aged - rust on screws, bridge ect. but I don't see any finish checking or dings to the back or sides. Also look at the picture of the back - where there are dings and bear wood on mine - there appears to be painted over - maybe just a trick of the light. Also headstock has no dings , aging or worn Les Paul Model. I guess is what VOS aged is.
Does anyone that has the higher number - non aged Gold - have aged hardware and rusted screws? I would think non aged would be non aged
So do we now have:
Aged (Gold)
Non Aged (Gold)
VOS aged (Blue)
My guess is a custom order of 3. It is interesting if you could order a custom color on an inspired by guitar, signature or specific artist guitar - from Gibson! - especially since the guitar Joe had drawn out is specific in its color and features.
A "Pearly Gates" in Black? or a Jiimy Page #1 in Green? for the right amount of money - maybe so
As far as it goes it is a 27X with the third digit blacked out.
Mine #27 is marked as 027
Anyway I love the Gold
I have had so many comments on how cool my guitar looks - as I'm sure all of you have. But again once they play it - they like it alot more.
I't's kinda of an ambassador turning people on the JB that are not aware of him.
