Topic: OFFICIAL Release date "The Ballad of John Henry"

Hi all,

Rachael mentioned in an other thread before, let's make it bigger:
The official release date for the new album "The Ballad of John Henry" will be February 24th, 2009.

Re: OFFICIAL Release date "The Ballad of John Henry"

Are we certain the 24th February is the correct date? That is a Tuesday. In the UK for example most CDs are released on a Monday (gives it one more day to climb the charts).

It's probably the release date for the US. CDs are released on Tuesdays here.

YEs I seem to remember with LFNIP that it was released in Germany a day or two before the UK, and seems we will get it on 23rd. Yes Phil, no chance I'm using Amazon this time. I think it will be double order to Play.com for Joe and Aynsley's new album (out the same day).

Re: OFFICIAL Release date "The Ballad of John Henry"

Interesting....

LFNIP official release date was the day Joe played in Lewiston NY.  Now TBOJH comes out 3 days before Buffalo and 4 days before Syracuse.

You just love us upstate folks!   Joe taking care of his "Homies" smile

Just hope that the marketing folks bring a bunch of those CDs to the NY shows in February!

And Joe, could you please ask Bogie, Carmine and Rick to join you in signing autographs this time?

Thanks,
Tom

When I click the Provogue link listed it shows a release date of February 23.

Re: OFFICIAL Release date "The Ballad of John Henry"

just curious what path this album is going to take.  for example following up to sloe gin or maybe going back to some of his more rocking albums like "so it's like that".  either way i know it will be a great addition to the jb library i have.  looking forward to hearing a mix up in the set list for next year's shows too.

Re: OFFICIAL Release date "The Ballad of John Henry"

Has anyone got any reviews of Ballad of John Henry to share with us yet.

I see Pete Feestra (London blues club owner) has commented on Joe's facebook page that As The Crow Flies has an "interesting tone".

Did a certain forum member not indicate he hoped to have a review done by Christmas?...
