Re: OFFICIAL Release date "The Ballad of John Henry"

OK, so does Joe's store do pre orders? I'll be at the 2009 opener in Northampton, and want to know how to get a hold of one of these copies  before the 26'th. Any one know if this is possible, or will I have to wait 'till the night of the show on Feb. 26'th and buy one there?

Life is too short. Listen to great blues music.

Re: OFFICIAL Release date "The Ballad of John Henry"

Februari damn thats a long way ahead ... mmm Derek trucks will ease my mind first.

Looking forward to JB's new album.

Re: OFFICIAL Release date "The Ballad of John Henry"

Look out and listen out for Joe promoting TBOJH in the next few weeks. On last night's show on Planet Rock Joe mentioned that he will be in the UK in a couple of weeks to do some PR.

Just to get in on the action and not at all competing with Jane in any way (I wouldn't dare! wink) here's my affiliate link if anyone feels like buying through me

By the way all of my commission proceeds will go to my chosen charity this year which is the "Donna Louise Trust"

This is a local charity (Staffordshire, UK) which was set up by the parents of Donna Louise Hackney who died at the tender age of 16

It is a hospice providing respite and end of life care for children with terminal and long term illness

A community nursing programme has also been established to provide care in the childs own home where preferred/necessary

Patrons include Robby Williams and Lord Stafford

Celebrity supporters of the trust include Jo Brand and David Baddiel

For further information see http://www.donnalouisetrust.org/index.php?page=32

Thanks in advance for the support

Re: OFFICIAL Release date "The Ballad of John Henry"

I thought I saw on another thread someone mentioning a link where you could get audio teasers from TBOJH.  I can't find it!

Re: OFFICIAL Release date "The Ballad of John Henry"

Thanks Babs for that link to the Dutch radio show. I actually did catch it , and heard 3 of Joes new songs. TBOJH was great. "Funkier than a Mosquitos Tweeter" was interesting (Ike/Tina Turner cover?).  It definately had a Funk/Blues sound. "You Better Stop "(Sam Brown?) was great. Both of these last two songs had great horn playing. Makes me wonder if Joe has any plans on bringing horns to his live shows? Anyways, thanks a lot for the heads up. Can't wait for Northampton for the 2009 tour opener!

Re: OFFICIAL Release date "The Ballad of John Henry"

play.com and hmv.com have TBOJH available in 'limited edition digipack'.
Can anyone explain what digipack is - and the benefits if any?

Re: OFFICIAL Release date "The Ballad of John Henry"

Hi All does anybody know if The Ballad of John Henry will also be available on vinyl. I enjoy Live from nowhere in particular very much

Re: OFFICIAL Release date "The Ballad of John Henry"

Does anyone know if TBOJH will be available on Amie Street? That's the best place for music for distant folks like me so I don't have to hassle with all the add-ons for shipping, duties, etc.  Physical CDs are almost double the cost by the time they get to me. I will give an arm and a leg for this album but I really would prefer not to...

Re: OFFICIAL Release date "The Ballad of John Henry"
