Hi Jeff. Hope you haven't put the US guys off coming over. I didn't know that. What a shame.

Ges,

"I guess it means we will have to think about a US Bonamassa trip from Europe. Hmmmmmmmm hmm this ties in nicely with my dream trip - being in the US and seeing JB with loads of US fans - punching the air together, swapping photos, tracks, sharing the US culture, guitar shops big_smile, the home of Gibson cool cool  I thought BB Kings place as the ultimate venue for the gig. Where would our US friends see as the ultimate place for a gig ? One with a special connection I mean rather than just a great set up or good beer ! "

What about Memphis, TN for a Bonablast?? Perfect place to enjoy the blues and our European friends could get a dose of Beale Street?

Thanks, Ges, your enthusiasm is infectious and I almost feel like I was there.  Bill S, I think you're right about a road trip to Europe, it's sounds like the perfect place to see Joe work his magic.

Hey, I was just reading the previous topic (Manchester) and there was a discussion about a euro-bonamassa trip for forum-ites. I'm seriously thinking 2008...assuming Joe's going back.

That sounds a great idea. It would be fantastic to meet some of the names on the forum........we already have one huge thing in common. Co'mon over smile cool

2008 ??? .............you mean Joe's not coming back to the UK in 2007 sad ?? I guess it means we will have to think about a US Bonamassa trip from Europe. I've never been to the US but I would love to come and see the real USA. Just need to find loads of $$ I guess lol

One of my other musical heros is Bill Nelson and every year for about the past four years, a weekend event is arranged by some supporters (started via the forum) where all things Nelson are celebrated. Bill is there and plays a set, videos are shown, music is played and a good time is had by all. I believe that some from US make the trip. I've not actually been myself but followed the events on the forum. I must make time to go.

Sorry about all the smilies wink

I didn't mean to imply that Joe wasn't touring Europe in 2007 (I don't know one way or the other, but I'd be very surprised if he's not back there next year, what with all the sell-outs and the great, enthusiastic fans). The reason I said 2008 is because I've already made vacation plans for 2007.

Re: Sheffield Boardwalk 24 Sept

Don't let the fact that the Cavern has moved from one side  of the street to the other put you off. If it had been the real Cavern you would definately have been put off. It would probably have been condemmed anyway on health and safety grounds  (drainage, ventilation etc etc etc. The replacement is as good a copy as you are ever likely to get and although the walls don't drip with sweat and the toilets don't overflow (as much) it is still a good representation of what the original was like. The Beatles week music festival is an absoutely brilliant week / weekend, which has grown in stature each year with the City Council providing two stages down aat the Pier Head over the August Bank Holiday weekend and a further three / four stages across the major streets at the River end of the city on the Bank Holiday Monday. All the bars and clubs have live music over the whole period and on the big stages are a wide selection of bands, mostly very good tribute acts, but some good regular bands too (this year Lightening Seeds and Wonderstuff for example) YEs you do need to get accommodation sorted early.
If Joe could make it for say the Sunday and Monday - I'm pretty sure he would make it to the Main stage at the Pier Head, with a potential mass audience of 350,000 - it's a free concert and the paople of Liverpool would be treated to a Bonaspectacle - and really launch him to the masses. Bring it on Joe - big PLEASE - gat your agents on the case mate. See you Tuesday at Pacific Road!
