Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

I just found this intresting bit of news posted on the Planet Rock forum.

I've just been on the blower to The Sage, Gateshead and they've told me that the Joe Bonamassa gig that was cancelled last week has been rescheduled for April.  There's a letter in the post with all the details.

Could it be part of a mini UK tour to prepare for May 4th ?

No matter how far you try to push the envelope, it remains stationery

It sure could be. big_smile

I have it on good authority that a couple of pre-RAH 'warm-up' shows are likely to take place in Holland. cool

I'm screwed! I have to work at that hour and far beyond, in fact too much of the entire weekend, so I'm getting morose. The good news is I'll have mo' money! Shred if you can buy me 2 tix adjacent, I'll send you via the trusty U.S. Postal Service cool (heck I'll make it Postal M.O. even!) payment for all 4 (immediately).
Plus weren't you considering a week in England?

I certainly hope that it's not before the 28th April, otherwise there will be some mighty fine seats up for sale!

Don't panic! Several of us over here have several irons in the fire, which means that any Bonabuddies here who want to come should have access to the best possible tickets. *winks*

Hang in there - my mate went to the box office and they are having problems with accepting payments.

Can't believe it we managed to nab a box - roll on May.

We currently have a couple of spare spaces in the box if they are not taken by friends I will put them up for forum members.

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

Travelodge is dirt cheap. Premier lodge is more comfortable and still affordable. Should be one within taxi distance.

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

Got Mine too!

Was due to go to the Sage show which was cancelled so will be heading down form the North East for this

Can't wait

Here's a hotel chain I use in central London that are really affordable

Good hunting.

We'll probably stay outside London to avoid taking the car in (Congestion charge and Parking) We'll have to see, there's time yet

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

Cathy and I will be driving over as we're staying with my oldest friend 'sarf' of the river where, I'm pretty sure, parking can be arranged and from where we're only a short tube ride from central London.

The Chunnel and the tube will be two more first time experiences for Cathy! I seriously expect her to stumble from one gobsmacking to the next - she won't know what hit her. big_smile

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

I have to admit to having a biased view but I'll be in Premier Inn.
There's one near the RAH (Kensington) and another one just down the road being refurbished as we speak.
You can cancel up to 1pm on the day of arrival without any charge.

I might stay at the one at Hampstead as it has car parking, a decent pub across the road and several restaurants within 3 minutes walk.
The in house restaurant is Chez Gerard.

Here's a link to Premier Inn

Oh well reminded Geoff.
And outside the congestion charge as well.

EDIT In fact I've jut booked it !!
£184 for two nights but bfast extra at £7.50.
