Topic: Joe's Guitars

Over the years I've heard of lots of guitar players naming their guitars such as:  Billy Gibbons - Pearly Gates, Eric Clapton - Blackie, B.B. King - Lucille, and the list goes on.  Is Joe sentamental like that and named any of his guitars do you think?

Re: Joe's Guitars

I don't think he's like that, but I always thought I'd be fun to have names for his guitars...it might be a little tough to do though because he has so many! It's not like there's 3 or 4 R9s that he plays and 1 of his signatures, he has like SEVERAL R9s, a Rossington, an R9 with a Bigsby, something like 3 of his signatures, a couple 335s...the list goes on.

Although if I remember right we named his Strat Goldie awhile back...that one was easy though : P

I always like the connection with the players and their guitar.

Re: Joe's Guitars

I hope he starts playin the Tele I built him, its simply a great instrument. I am going to give Joe a awesome guitar next time he comes this way, I got it in the works already, I am designing it around his sound, the way he plays, of course this one will have HB's even though the bardens are really humbuckers, but I am going to build it light so its easy on his back, but will still have the big sound of the LP Jumbo frets radius like the Paul, I can't wait Joe, hope Europe is good to you! That would be cool if he did, Teles have been good to him in the past.  He could name it the BIGBSMILES Singature model.  Good luck with your next build!
