WHEW!!!....what a day for everyone....and I do meen EVERYONE!......I took off here at 10am to drive "east on 80" ( not west, at least not at this time )....I'm on the road about 45 minutes winding my way up the mountain...as I come around a blind bend, I see this bus with a trailer on the side of the road broken down....I should have reacted quicker, but I never ever expected The Bonamassa Bus to be in that location, as they were in Oregon the night before...I drive another 10 minutes, before making a phone call to Melissa in Ohio, I explained what I saw to her.....she was going to do some research to see if I was correct....5 minutes later Jdawg calls me from Reno to ask me where Im at, apparently that was Joes bus!....I turn around "west on 80" (that wont be the last time we here that today smile )....head back to the bus, a tow truck was hooking uo the trailer...the band got picked up by a van the Nugget Casino sent....the boys had very little time to prepare as Aaron and Dave were setting up the gear...a very quick sound check to say the least

Reno was having there 10th annual ribfest, so the streets of Sparks were packed....many a person I talked to were excited to finally see the great Joe Bonamassa live!.....I have never been to a Joe show that had that many people that were forum visitors or members...I had the pleasure to meet "Nancy from Chicago" and her husband, they flew all the way here to see Joe, wish they had hung around afterwards.....the set was slightly different as far as the order of songs....but the sound was fantastic, and the band did not dissapoint...."Blues Deluxe" was incredible!!!....I hope my video of that song and a couple more turn out ok, I'll find out Thursday when I go through everthing and plug into my LCD TV....I better shut this post down, I'm starting to ramble...but before I go, many thanks to the 2 lovely ladies that handed out 150 JB cards through the crowd for me

Wow Shred..never a dull moment huh??!! Thanks for the story. Joe must have been a nervous wreck. He's so particular about his sound. I'm happy to hear all went well in the end. I'll actually be able to watch that video if you get it up soon..Now we'll lean on you like we did Libby!!! Now, I hope you can sleep after all that!!   Sister Cate

WoW!  Quite the story there Dave!!!  Glad the Shredmobile, with its mighty little spirit, didn't have to tow the bus!!!!  I was beginning to wonder how often that kind of thing might happen when they're busy putting so many miles on........  so glad to hear that all ended well though!

Wow!  Nancy from Chicago??  How exciting!!!  I don't remember hearing anything about her going.......  did you know they were going to be there???  Who else was there?

Can't wait to see your videos.  Were you happy with your new camera?  What brand/model did you end up getting??

Blues Deluxe has always been incredible, but, I must admit, there is something EXTRAORDINARILY FABULOUS about its current incarnation......... I watched a video today of Blues Deluxe in N.Y......... and was left breathless, and speechless........ and I was reminded of how incredible it was when I got to hear it twice myself a few weeks ago....... WOW JOE....... how do you do that????  take something that was perfect, and make it EVEN BETTER?????  A special skill you have...... and, we are the lucky recipients.....

I previewed the video, not bad for my first time.....I'ts not going on youtube, there is enough of Spike Drver Blues, Blues Deluxe and Woke up Dreaming....I'll just keep it in the archives along with the pics....me, Bluezman and JdaWG were acting silly in some of them photos, so....well you get the picture...oh yeah bought a Panasonic DMC-TZ5, I had Rhonda on the phone holding my hand through cyber space......BIG THANK YOU!! to Rhonda, the camera is awesome for that price....got to take a time out now, got to compromise with the wife once in awhile

Shreddy the back stage pix I got of us Joe and the rest of the band are off the hook! all the street teamers that showed up was just Massive!! we hand out over 600 Get To Know Joe Cards over the weekend well done It was Great being apart of such an event as the Rib cook off as you will see in the pix the showing was great!!

Anxiuos moments, heavenly ribs, good to see Chris & Al and their wives again(3 times in the Reno Tahoe area now), Meeting Chi-town Nancy & hubby(hope we didn't scare you guys off), Sierra Stu(we've been to 4 or 5 shows together and finally meet), Gary from Tracy, Salvatore & Betty(thanks for passing out cards and the Gentleman Jack), and last but not least thanks to John Ascuaga's roulette wheel that paid for the weekend.

Hi Mike -

I wasn't at the show, but I do know that Joe has been opening with "Spike Driver Blues" lately, which, we are hopeful will land on his new CD due out in early '09.

Meanwhile, I thought you might enjoy reliving it a bit.  This is my video of it from early August.  You can do a 'search' (see search tab above) for Spike Driver Blues and see LOTS of other info about it on the Forum, other video, details about the guitars used, the Theremin, etc.  Check it out.......and have fun.......

After I posted my question, I checked some of the other threads in 'set lists' and eventually came across one of your responses. I checked out the video and yes "Spike Driver Blues" was the first song. Thanks for the video. Hope this song is on the next album.

I love the way that Joe can cover a song and personalize it. I can't wait for Joe to come back to town.
