Topic: Joe's overdriven wah sound

I think Joe has one of the best if not the best wah sound I've ever heard. Would be really cool to know where in the effects line Joe puts his wah and does he use the wah with amps own overdrive or with overdrive pedals ? Any other pedals on while using the wah ? Any other tips for such a tone.

Thanks, Mat

not sure, could be a vox so thats a start. most of his effects all go staight in and out of his jubilee i THINK, and a tube screamer goes into a peavey, not sure, look at guitarist mag's interview, wait. I will, and I'll find out nd tellyou.

Yes, it is a standard Vox wah. Would be cool to know how he gets the juicy wah-overdrive tone happening =O)) Of cource he has a pair of magic hands that helps to get THE sound!!

Check out this video - it looks as if it is the first one in his effects line.

Re: Joe's overdriven wah sound

I'm pretty sure the wah is the first in his effects chain - so it goes to all the amps... i guess it just helps to have a great tone to start with...

Re: Joe's overdriven wah sound

Thanks for the answers guys ! I wonder if Joe still uses the nontruebypass Vox wah? I have to put my wah to the first of the effect string..
