Would you be Steve or Adrian from Vanquish guitars? The makers of that beautiful Oli Brown signature guitar? If so I want one smile

Sorry, no I am not Steve or Adrian (very nice guys by the way)

I am with Oli, hence my thanks to all the Forum members for making us so welcome after (and before) the Albert Hall gig.

The guitar is reviewed in next months Guitarist (out next week I believe)

I am sure that both Steve and ASdrian would be more than happy to make a guitar for you (even if it is not the Oli Brown one) they make beautifully crafted instruments.

Thanks

Re: Oli Brown Band

I only have one thing to say if Oli does go on tour with Joe and that's....

TAKE ME WITH YOU!!   lol

Re: Oli Brown Band

Hi folks,
I hope you are not getting fed up of me posting about Oli but each time I see him I am just so impressed.
Last saturday Oli, Fred and Simon appeared at the Holmfirth Picturedrome as part of the Classic Rock and Blues Splash.
They were on first which meant an early start...6pm! The place wasn't full by any means and there was a huge empty space in front of the stage. I know how Oli hates to have the audience so far away so as they were about to start I headed straight for the front with Chris and Sally and Keith (or is it Kev smile ). Also Lucky Simon was there.
After a couple of numbers, Psycho and Played By The Devil, Oli asked people to move down to the front and the atmospere really warmed up.
Then I think it was Open Road, Can't Get Next To You, Stone Cold (Roxanne), Missing You, No Diggity and Top Of The World.
It was all over too quickly sad
Missing You is one of my favourite songs and this performance of it was spectacular to say the least and the crowd loved it. Definitely the best set of the night in my opinion.

Naturally,I took some videos so I'll let the music do the talking now smile

By the way ....Happy Birthday Oli! 20 years old on saturday. Hope you have a fantastic birthday doing whatever you want smile

Re: Oli Brown Band

Don't worry Tripsy. I've jumped on the Oli wagon too!!! "Open Road" is one of those songs like "Walk in my Shadow", you just can't sit still when it's playing. The entire CD is GREAT! I'm also crazy about his version of "Black Betty".  This kid will go far. I'm still fuming about the price of a work visa to the States. Outrageous! I'd think about traveling for Joe and Oli. Still thinking about the great show in November. It all depends on how hard I can work before then..lol.. Cathy

Hi Cathy,
Glad you're loving Oli. Open Road is a great cd and I really hope you get to see him live soon. It will be fantastic if you and George can make it to the Leamington Spa thingy.

Don't work too hard............Tripsy smile

Re: Oli Brown Band

Saw him the first time live yesterday in an open air concert near Nürnberg. As he was there only as a part of the Blues Caravan he played only some songs, but he did it very well. And I liked very much his stage personality - he´s got charisma.
It was a free concert with partly horrible people in the audience, but the three of them managed it to create a much better atmosphere. Well done!

Folks, I would like to reitarate what Tripsy has said about Oli and in particular his set at Holmfirth which I saw, I was stood near the front but was encouraged along with others  by Oli to get a bit closer to the stage......the band played a great set which along with Buddy Whittington outdid what both Stan Webb and Nine Below Zero had to offer.......

He is a very promising performer and in the time since I last saw him at Holmfirth ( in October 2008 supporting Walter Trout) his improvement was there for all to see.

Am looking forward to seeing him at Leamington and also on his other shows later in the year !

Joe Live In Rotherham....not too long to go now !

Re: Oli Brown Band

Saw Oli last night at Beaverwood - great show and I agree about I Can Make Your Day - really hot.  Missing you was as brilliant as ever big_smile  The band were in great form - solos from Fred and Simon as well and some really nice exchanges between Oli, Fred and Simon which drew the audience in.  Certainly had the audience's attention.

Sounds like a great start to the tour, Maggie! I Can Make Your Day is indeed hot stuff.....and I believe Oli had other lyrics for that song but chose to 'cool' it down a bit tongue
Missing You is my favourite...I hope he plays it in Liverpool on sunday.
Were there any other new songs, Maggie?
