Topic: Who's your hero?

Just had to post this about my 6 year old son, Tallan.

Today was his last day of summer school and he had taken a computer class.  In this computer class the teacher put together a power point presentation for the kids to bring home to remember everyone in the class, as a little momento.  It had each kids picture and some info about each one.  She asked them about their favorite things, like favorite food, color, thing to do, places they like going, and who's their hero is, a little bio for each one.  The kids filled in the information on their computers and she took the info and put it into power point.

He came home and immediately we had to watch the presentation.  So I put the disk in the computer and it starts playing.  As I'm watching this, I'm looking at the little bios.  Some of the favorite places were Six Flags, skate parks, water parks, some of the girls listed Department stores, etc.  Some of the favorite things to do: Skateboard, video games, play with friends, etc.  Some of the heros: mom, dad, grandpa, Superman, Batman, you get the idea.

Then Tallan pops up.  I'm wondering whose going to be his hero, I'm thinking it's got to be good old dad.  I'm like pick me not your mother, either of us would have been fine but the old compition thing was going on.

It read as followed:

fav color: green,
fav food: hot dog,
fav show: Scooby Doo,
Fav place to go: Concerts
Fav thing to do: Play his guitar (he practices lessons about 2-3 hours a day)
Now the big one, this is it:
HERO (Can you guess who): Joe Bonamassa
I said to him Joe Bonamassa.  He said yep, then he said did I spell his name right.  I said yep.

Every 6 year old should have a guitar hero like Joe.

Re: Who's your hero?

Glad your son has found a worthy hero. Joe is one of my son's heroes as well.

How lucky are we to have kids interested in music? Not just music, but good music? With any luck, our children will follow in Joe's footsteps and usher in another generation of fans who know the difference between musicianship and pre-packaged hackery. They're definitely on the right path.

The blues isn't about a look or a specific sound, the blues is something deep within. But the sound doesn't hurt things, you know? ~ Ben Hernandez

To have Joe as a hero at only 6 years of age and be pratcising 2-3 hours a day is amazing!
