Topic: Met up with Joe before show at Birkenhead.
I had a chance to get away from work at lunch time on wednesday, so i thought i would take a chance and go down to the pacific rd arts centre in the afternoon to see if i could meet Joe. When I got there I noticed the tour bus parked at the Centre, coming down the bus steps was Joe's drummer Bogey. I asked him if Joe was around and he told me he was on the tour bus and would let him know a fan wanted to meet him. After a few minutes Joe came down the bus steps said hello and welcomed me on his tour bus. I stayed for around ten minutes on Joe's bus talking about guitars and amplifiers. Joe showed me and let me hold one of his Gibson les paul goldtop and gave me a brief display of his playing on it. It wasn't plugged into a amp but still was good to see Joe play upclose. Before i left Joe signed my Fender telecaster and some other stuff and gave one of his new guitar picks. Joe was really freindly and loved to talk guitars and stuff. When i met Joe after the show that night with the rest of the fans, it was nice that Joe recognised me and knew my name. I would like to thank Joe for taking the time to meet me and talk with me giving me some advice on amps. I've met quite a few famous musicians over my 30 yrs of watching bands, but none have gave me any of their time like Joe did. Mark.
