Topic: Shepherd's Bush tracks on Rhapsody

Hi,

I was searching out artists on Rhapsody late Saturday night when I decided to look up Joe. Normally I don't go there because I own all of his albums ... or so I thought. When I got to Joe's page, on the top of the album release list (which has all of Joe's albums) I was very surprised to see "Sheperds Bush".

Clicking on it brought me to a page that has a photo of the outside of Shepherds Bush Empire with a Joe Bonamassa banner. And beneath it were 5 tracks availabe for download.

The tracks available are "Walk in my Shadows", "Blues Deluxe", "Mountain Time", "Bridge to Better Days", and "Just Got Paid". The performances were great, and the audio quality was very good.

But this really confused me, because I noticed on Joe's tour date page he just played Shepherd's Bush on Friday night the 15th, yet the "release date" of the tracks on this page is 15 Jan 2008. It also shows the "Record Label" as being J&R Adventures (not Premier Artist Services like his other albums are under). Does anyone know if these tracks are from the Friday show, or are they maybe from a previous one?

Anyway, to those who are Rhapsody members, you should go to Joe's page and check it out. To those who aren't, Rhapsody offers a 14-day free trial (there is a link to it on the home page at http://www.real.com/). I have become a Rhapsody addict lately, and recommend it highly (and no, I have no connection with them ... I just like the service).

Re: Shepherd's Bush tracks on Rhapsody

This was from a previous show.  They have been on iTunes for awhile now.  Nice to add to the collection.

Music is good for the Soul...

Re: Shepherd's Bush tracks on Rhapsody

Thanks David. I'm a newbie and wasn't aware these tracks were available on iTunes.

And I thought, even with today's technology, that posting live performance tracks on a service like Rhapsody the day after a gig was pushing it a bit much.

Great tracks though!

Re: Shepherd's Bush tracks on Rhapsody

I'm listening to Shepherd's Bush on Napster right now and lovin it!! I too was suprised to find this gem when there was no info on the home page about it's release.

I've been playing it off and on for weeks and still wide awake here, listening to Just Got Paid (again!! - BTW, Bogey rocks!!) not wanting to turn it off and get some sleep, but turn it up instead!

This version shows it was released in Jan 2008, by J&R Adventures and has 6 tracks:

Walk in my Shadows
Blues Deluxe
Mountain Time
Bridge to Better Days
Just Got Paid
Burning Hell

Every song on this rocks!

I had trouble with Rhapsody software on my last computer, so using napster now with this laptop, and i like napster's service too - just a matter of personal preferance and s/w compatibility i guess.

The problem with getting music online is that i love liner notes, etc., and i dont get that info this way.

Re: Shepherd's Bush tracks on Rhapsody

These tracks must be from 'Live at Shepherd's Bush Empire 29th March 2007', which has been available as a torrent on dimeadozen.

The file also includes 'Takin the Hit' and 'Asking around for you'.

Re: Shepherd's Bush tracks on Rhapsody

The first five tracks, ie not "Burning Hell", 'Takin the Hit' and 'Asking around for you' - are also on emusic.com. You can get 25 free downloads on there before full subscribing/cancelling your account.

I'll have to check out the other tracks though!
