Re: signings

Hi steva. I was at the Cheese and Grain gig there on saturday (just home an hour ago) and I was lucky enough to get my tab book signed by the whole band big_smile I cuaght Joe, Carmine and Rick before the show and then i was able to see Bogie afterwards. They are all really dead on guys, i can't see there being much of a problem smile

Re: signings

Unfortunately, Shepherds Bush saw neither hide nor hair of Joe and the band. I guess they were frightened of being mobbed given the adulation they received from their largest audience. Shame, as I had hoped to get my ticket signed.

Re: signings

Ive been struggling with a very sinus infection for the past two weeks..  I have barely been getting thru the gig singing wise..  I generally am going straight to bed and trying to get rid of this thing.. Its been a old fashion pain.  I am on antibiotics and many meds to clear this out of my system. Im sorry in advance but until I feel better I have to shut up after the show.. It kills me cause Im usuallly very eager to talk and chat about...

Sorry to hear you're under the weather.  sad
From what I'm hearing, you wouldn't know it by your performances.  What a trooper.  cool
Continue to take care of yourself and feel better soon.

Aw, Joe.  My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting you at The Coach House a few weeks ago (I'm the one who gave you the poem.)  I can't believe that you are still suffering with your illness.

We know how you feel - LITERALLY!!!  He came down with it 2-3 days after meeting you and then I got it from him!  We're calling it the Bonamassa bug.

I cannot even begin to imagine what performing in general (you work so hard) must feel like, let alone SINGING!!!  Wish you could take a little time off to rest and get well, but, I guess that's not an option.

Please do whatever is necessary to get well soon.  Enjoy the rest of your time across the pond.  We miss you already and can't wait to see you again.

Thank you for being so warm and gracious to us.  WE LOVE YOU JOE!!!

P.S.  If you have an hour of down time, read the Coach House/Galaxy review of biblical proportions I posted last night.  smile

Okay  Joe,   Time to fluff those pillows a couple of extra times and get some extra rest in....it must be a real drag being sick on the road......Kudos for being able to go on with the show, we say and think you are the best for many, many reasons.  Maybe some chicken noodle soup is in line for you, herbal teas, echinacea, ginger......I'll be thinking of you and wishing you well my friend.

Re: signings

Okay Joe.  Nurse Libby here with some serious suggestions to help you get rid of what ails you.....

Try to stay away from dairy products for a while, as they will only add to the problem.

Breathe steam several times a day - whether in a really hot shower, or with a towel over your head while you lean over a bowl of boiling hot water (AFTER it's off the stove) - this should be both productive and soothing.

Have someone buy you a gel mask (shaped like a Lone Ranger mask) that you can put in the freezer and then lay over your tender sinuses.  This should actually help reduce the swelling in your sinus passages and, therefore, provide some relief from the pain.

Drink PLENTY of hydrating liquids.  Mixing a little apple cider vinegar with water and sipping it all day should help to break things up too.  A lot of people SWEAR by that method.  Of course, there is always tea.....and plenty to be found where you are.  smile

So sorry you are suffering.  Rest.  Maybe the guys can handle the meet and greets for a while during your recovery.  smile

All best wishes,

Re: signings

Get well soon Joe. Gotta say that I've gigged with a temperature of over 100 degrees in the past and found that actually getting out there on the stage can be the best medicine. It's strange what adrenalin can do for the body when you're sick, as you no doubt know very well. I wish you a speedy recovery.
