Re: Joe's Interviews

Really enjoyed this interview that was done by Guitar Interactive Magazine. Joe talks a lot about the music industry and what's involved with touring ie costs, etc. When people complain about tickets prices think of the upper six figures per week that it costs to tour.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83mdCU4T4PI

Re: Joe's Interviews

Almost spilled my coffee on the Sunday paper today when I saw the fantastic article about Joe in the Washington Post!  I've added it to the Interviews list under this heading:

January 10, 2016  FROM THE FRONT PAGE OF THE SUNDAY STYLE SECTION OF THE WASHINGTON POST - this one is BIG - and full of great info - 'A guitarist's crusade to bolster the blues' [online title: 'The guitar nerd from Utica who has come to save the blues'] by Geoff Edgers https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertai … story.html

This sticky of Joe's Interviews has garnered over 121,000 views since it was first posted in 2008; with 30,000 views in the past year alone (Feb. 2015 to January 2016).

Amazing - as always.

Thanks for putting it up here in the sticky Anne. I was floored when I came upon this gem my Bonasearch engine had waiting in my morning feed last week. I then saw it on his Mom's fb wall. She must be over the moon.

Re: Joe's Interviews

Apparently there's an interview with Joe in the latest issue of Mojo magazine, although I've not seen it yet. This was plugged by the editor, Phil Alexander, on his show on Planet Rock on Saturday, 20th Feb, when he played Drive for the first time.

Interview with Joe in Issue 269 of Mojo magazine

“The guy who has helped the blues industry the most is Joe Bonamassa and I would say he is more rock than some rock stuff, so to me blues is whatever you want it to be!”

A member on the LPF noted Joe's interview on Reverb ... in particular Joe's reply to the Question: Stylistically, your music is rooted heavily in the blues. How do you approach writing within those structures and still keep it fresh?

Joe posted up a nice add-on on this LPF Thread ... see post #3 ...

... I would add ... and thank you Joe ... the steam powered car is gett'in us there just fine!!.

Re: Joe's Interviews

It's funny in 1982 (long before Joe started recording, probably he was just starting to play) Disco was strong and pounding out it's electronic looped beats,,
I thought it "sucked" and wished people would play live. I said anybody could pound on a computer keyboard and loop 5 notes.
funny he's stating that in 2016
