Speed Metal .............   Megadeth, System of a Down, Anthrax
Black Metal ...............   Cannibal Corpse, Cradle of Filth, Death
Heaviest Gore Metal .   Whitechapel, Impending Doom, Dethklok
The last 2 categories, i had to call a friend, who called me back after 5 minutes thought

and the Heaviest Band on The Planet ......... The Bezerker
(i actually went out and bought their CD, just to see if it were true, well i gotta say i ain't heard nothing like that ever, and actually they have some incredible riffs,  my cd collection ranges from Beethoven to The Bezerker and Bee Gees to Bonamassa and all genres catered for in between ... Variety is in my Ipod

But i gotta finish Iron Maiden are the true pioneers of Metal and got it down so perfectly tight.
but for me personally

Slayer Rule .... that is REAL METAL .... Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman have made the Best Metal Music

My son turned me on to Killswitch Engage, and I love em. Another band with a similar vibe is Five Finger Death Punch.
