Re: Who saw the Palace show??

Why thank you..........it was a pleasure to meet you.  The way you and Joe were talken, I figured you WERE old friends.  What an amazing artist he is.  And you get to tell your grandkids some day you guys got to hang out after one of his shows.
All I can say about tonight....................is DAMN, that man can play.  The entire band smoked that theater.   Did you not love it, when he stepped away from the mike, and we could hear him singing perfectly?
Thanks to Joe and the band for an amazing start of the Holiday!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
I hope everyone made it home safely.

Re: Who saw the Palace show??

Saw another excellent performance by the band there last night. Had to get up early this morning and set my oven to 325 F for six hrs. and now I'm doing the praying part (THANKS FOR THE TIP JOE).I took a friend there for her bonabaptism. I cant even guess how many times on the way home she said "THAT WAS F****** AWESOME". (BARBRA / TOM...I was having a brain fart at the time but the STEVE WINWOOD CD I was tellin' you I got for my B-day is "BACK IN THE HIGHLIFE".Glad you enjoyed the BLIND FAITH @ LONDON HYDE PARK 1969 DVD.)  HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE...DARRIN

Tell me about the car i saw parked outside your door ? Tell me what you left me waiting two or three hours for ? Tell me why when the phone rings, baby, your up and across the floor ? Please dont keep me wondering no more.....

Re: Who saw the Palace show??

Joe, Bogie, Carmine and Rick completely rocked the house last night at the Palace!!  They were on FIRE and the show was absolutely perfect.  Bogie walked on stage to his drums to start the beat to Bridge to Better Days and from that moment on the the boys just rocked and jammed the night away.  The Place Theater was outstanding and the acoustics in their were just perfect.

Joe, Bogie, Carmine and Rick you guys are so talented.  Your energy, enthusiasm and joy performing together last night was obvious.  Have I told you all lately that you are the best?  Because you are.  Thanks for an AWESOME show and an incredible year filled with your special rockin' blues.

Melissa, Dean (Gina nice to meet you), Don and Laura great to see you again.  Darrin glad I got a chance to speak with you and happy to read your friend was blown away by Joe and the boys.  Bill Darragh nice seeing you and Janet.  Starks a pleasure meeting you.  Patdocsteelers I was looking for you guys and wanted to catch up with you last night.  Sorry I missed  you.  SRV didn't get a chance to introduce myself but after the show when Joe came out to chat I believe I was standing right behind you.

Joe, Bogie, Carmine, Rick, Dave, Aron and all who are on the bus I hope you are relaxing today, eating lots of turkey and maybe checking out downtown Louisville a little.  Great town with a really cool history.  Have a Happy Thanksgiving and may your holidays be joyous.  As always, travel safely.  See you next year guys....  Barbara

Re: Who saw the Palace show??

Oh, HELL YEA they were on fire last night-- I swear that the embers were falling on my new camera!  What a great show, everyone in fine form, as usual, and what a nice venue for them to be that way in.  Joe's backing away from the mic to sing that part of "Asking Around for You" was seriously cool; glad to see him in a place in which he could do that.

It was so very nice to see everyone at this last show :-(til next year) in the region, and also cool to meet some new fans & street team members.  It was Dean's sister's Bonabaptism and needless to say that the show is a predominant conversational topic here at Thanksgiving dinner 'cause she's still in awe!

Re: Who saw the Palace show??

I can't believe I had to miss the show last night. From what I read here today it must have been quite a show. Any tapers?   When I volunteered to cater a private party 2 months ago I didn't think in my wildest thoughts that Joe would be in town the night before Thanksgiving.
     There's always next time.
Hey Melissa, Did you guys get a package I sent? Just curious as to if it made it safe and sound and what you liked/didn't like.  Happy Holidays to all and to all good night. Turkey nap time......

Take care everyone. And if I don't meet you no more in this world
Then ill, I'll meet you in the next one and don't be late, don't be late

Nope.....but I feel like we are now.  He's a very class act.....his on stage personality is confirmed by his off stage generosity.....

Very cool the way he stepped away from the mic.....it shows he appreciated the venue.  Also was nice of him to explain it after the show.  Was that you that asked him about it?

I happened to see your seat (no pun...) in another post.....I was 2 rows directly behind you.....D8.  I know damn well you heard me.....(I have no voice today...)

I made it home OK, but the cops were brutal on Rt. 30.....I saw quite a few pulled over.

PS...I got to talkin' to quite a few people before the show in the lounge that had never seen him before.  I saw most of them on the way out afterwards.  They were freakin'.....they couldn't believe what they had just seen.  I was too, but only because he gets better every time I see him.....

Re: Who saw the Palace show??

Hey Jeff...

Yeah, sorry buddy, you missed a beauty.  And ironically, I had an extra ticket.....my buddy couldn't go at the last minute.....

Of course, having an empty seat next to me left plenty of room for finger poppin'.....

That's the good news.....

Bad news is the show was so damn good that I sprained my wrist.....square biz.....

I did hear you behind me, it made me smile and scream out too!

As for my seat (ha ha), you probably saw a lot of that as I was jumping to my feet through out the show, with every one else!  I love the seated venues, but it is so hard to stay in them watching talent like that!!!!!

Glad to hear you made it home safely, I got lost going back to the Sheraton, and pulled into this really cool bar on Rt. 30 East, right past Latrobe, tucked onto the side of the road, in the middle of nowhere, to ask for directions.  Told them I got lost driving back to my hotel from a concert, and they wanted to know who I saw..................well that's all it took for me to have a beer, and tell everyone about Joe!  Needless to say, I didn't get back to my hotel until about 2 in the morning.

I love being a fan of Joe's!  Not only do wonderful people like you, Barbara, Dean and Melissa make me feel welcome at the concerts................I have had some interesting adventures in the cities I get to visit.

PS...........I think between the chocolate chip cookies and brownies from Barbara, and the pumpkin pies from Melissa, the band was on a SERIOUS sugar high!

Re: Who saw the Palace show??

OK That's it! I'm not going to miss any more shows that are w/in an 8 hr drive because you are all making me need MORE!! I love that you all got to meet each other. To hear Melissa this fired up is fun! How did Nico like the show? Of course Joe is as nice as you would hope. You can't keep people this committed and be a creep! SRV..see you on the ship. Barbara, hope to see you again. Next year we'll need to plan a regional gathering at a show....Cathy

Re: Who saw the Palace show??

Cathy, the unbelievable occured; Nico declined to go to the show in favor of watching Shrek 3!  Well, we just got that DVD so he had seen Joe twice this month and only saw the movie once, at that point.

Roy, you got it exactly right; that's how it was & it was way cool.  Indeed, I have a love/hate association with Asking Around for You but that extra-special primo performance of it there at The Palace helped stifle the chords of sadness that it often strikes when I hear it.  I wonder if he'll be able to do that in Louisville tonight; hopefully so!

If you'da went a few miles further east, you'da been offered moonshine.....

But most bars around here are pretty cool.....even towards Brownie fans.....(sorry, that kinda just slipped out.....kinda.....)

I'm ashamed to admit it.....but no, I wasn't lookin' at yer "seat".....far left in the orch. pit never yeilded such a great look at the stage.  (can't say if I'da had advance warning though...)

Seriously.....it was a special night.....everyone there felt it, and I think JB felt it too.....

I'll try to sit behind you at the next show.....
