Shredit wrote:Just got a call from the Dawg, he's wacked out on morphine, but still has a sense of humor, said something about Johnny Winter... " I'm still alive".... then told me to have a... "fuc*ing taco on him". Guess he went through quite a bit of surgery, I made him hang up the phone before he caused any damage to himself. Anyways i told him you all were sending him your best, he chuckled a bit. You remember Lee Marvin in the movie "Cat Balou ", he was hanging off that post outside the saloon, well that was John tonight....lol..
God bless my taco brother!
lol John told me all about the taco story in Oroville hehe
god speed J Dawg
He told you that story...lol.. it's been a few years since i've done that. I said to John "dont you think you should keep that for yourself. I'm not the one who needs that stuff ". The dude is VERY!! persistent....LOL.....the next thing I know , I'm eating tacos like the tasmanian devil, yes, you do get the munchies something bad from that. I have friends in the mountains of Cali. that partake in growing that vegetable. Pssst.... dont tell anyone about this, thats one habit I dont miss.
Shred
I pulled through, but I look like I was in a wicked knife fight. I've got about 60-70 staples from my chin down and around under my jaw and back up behind my left ear and another slice off the bottom of the curve down to my collar bone. Lots of numbness still, but they told me it will subside. I begged my doctor to spring me by lunch Thur. since the hospital didn't carry any Baseball playoff stations and I couldn't get any AM radio reception either. The doc says he got all the bad stuff and may curtail the Chemo treatments which is fine with me, but he may keep me on the radiation a while longer. That's fine with me since there's a very sweet nurse that gives me the treatments who liked my Joe disc I made to listen to during my treatment. When I was in Santa Cruz Joe gave me a copy of Sloe Gin signed to Sara from JB. I gave it to her the next day and when she saw it was personally autographed to her she laid a bear hug on me. Ahhh music is the doctor. Thanks to each and every one of you for your thoughts and prayers, your love and support is the strongest medicine I know of. Back to the game Top of 5 CLE 4 NYY 3

Cle 7 NYY 3, Shred I know John Adams the drum guy they just talked to, got his address in Brecksville right here in my desk. Sager shoulda let John's wife Kathleen say hi, she's the one sittin' next to him with the matching shirt. I've got a picture on the fridge of my son JJ beatin' on the drum with John at an A's/Tribe game about ten years ago when John came out to Oakland. He's a helluva nice guy.
CLEVELAND ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whoops!!! now it's 9-3
Ohiodawg-Glad your sense of humor is intact and you're treating your nurse well. Phillie fans were rootin for the Indians over those Yanks.
Hey JDawg.
Ouch! That sounds like some kinda surgery. Anyway, It's good to hear from you again. Sounds like you're doing good, considering. Now, you just gotta kick back and heal. Welcome Back!
Susan
YEAH!!!!! J Dawg is back home and on the mend. So good to read your posts. Be patient with your recovery process and get plenty of rest. Take care and be well my friend.....
.....Barbara
Take care and your rest.
I never had a patient who gave me something as cool as you gave your nurse..
Get well soon
Hey J Dawg, glad to hear you're okay. Kick back, put on some Joe, and you'll be fine. You are always in our thoughts and prayers.
"Who Let he Dawg Out? Who Let the Dawg Out!"
Man, it's good to hear from you Big Guy!! I'm glad that the doc got what he needed and that you're up and able to post. We all missed you for the last couple of days. I told you the "Really Big Guy" had your back and we all just kept pullin' for ya'!! Sounds like you've got a little more "work" ahead of you, but don't worry we're still saying those prayers. Hey, regarding the slice and dice that you've got, the numbness does subside and I'm sure your doctor will tell you to keep that area out of the sun if possible. Also, mine told me that once it's somewhat healed, it is a good idea to rub some vitamin E over the cut area which would help lesson any scaring. Anyway, like I said, WELCOME BACK!!
Roy
Roy, Roy, Roy, My nurse friends handle all rubbing therapy because that's what they DO!!!! I trust myself only to professionals. Nurse Mary handles bandage wraps and the most up close personal needs, Nurse Sara is in charge of bear hugs prior to Rad treatments, and Sister Cate RN is in charge of country wide Superdupergoodvibes!!!! What more could a patient ask for. NURSES ROCK!!!!!!!!!!
No Nurse Ratchet Here,
J Dawg
On behalf of all nurses, thanks for the kind words..It's what keeps nurses on the job...I can tell you're feeling frisky!! Good sign!! Keep fighting the good fight and doing it with humor..Sister Cate
OH YEAH, you're soundin' feisty, JDawg! That's GOTTA be a good sign. Keep getting better.
