Topic: PPV

In these strange times it might be a thought for Mr. B to  seriously consider a paid concert on line through YouTube or some other media platform.

The combinations are endless, the regular band, a power trio of oldies, RCFP, etc.  Understanding that Mr. B and his bands  safety is paramount,  it surely would be possible to maintain their social distancing and perform.  Sanity for all of us, revenue for the band members, and a smile on everyone's face.

This might also be something that they would consider every six (6) months or so in the future as a supplement to, not a replacement for the current tour performance.  I understand the long term financial considerations, but I watched the original Royal Albert Hall performance 5 times on PBS and still bought the DVD...and the CD (before I learned how to rip music from DVD's).

Just a thought....

I think it is something that a lot  of musical artists must consider.

Re: PPV

Recently heard a couple medical folks on TV saying they don't expect any large groups (e.g. concerts, sports) will be permitted for the entire rest of this year!

Re: PPV

Wondered what this was doing on here - didn't put PPV together as pay per view.  In medicine PPV is positive pressure ventilation-something we are hearing too much about these days.

I would love a pay per view

Not a ‘bad idea. I don’t expect Joe’s Summer tour to happen.

Lol, I once joked about Joe's hologram in my living room and look at this - might come true: whaaaat - augmented reality channel lol

" ... continuous series of private Augmented Reality channels.  These AR channels will provide exclusive content directly from the artist, ranging from new songs written and possibly captured that same morning, to film footage of live events, providing an intimate view into the songwriting process and more. Re: PPV

Anybody know how this 9/20/2020 show will be broadcast to my living room. I currently have AT&T Uverse as provider. So, will I be able to DVR the show? Thanks for your reply!

Yes, Rick, being an old, non-technical person I am confused as well about how this will be delivered.  I have Comcast.  Any help out there?

Am delaying buying my ticket since a couple of us neighbors may try to watch together.  Need to work out the mechanics.

Re: PPV

I can only assume you get all the details via email once you’ve bought a ticket.
However it must be a similar system to Zoom in that you are sent a unique code with your ticket that has to be entered on whatever link you are given.
A decent high speed internet connection would no doubt be an advantage.
Also I think you probably have watch live rather then buy a ticket and watch at a later or more convenient time - if not, then I’d be interested because I can’t do the 20th.
There doesn’t appear to be a time given which would be helpful for non USA viewers as it could be very early in the morning for Europe.
The concert is apparently also available on DVD but could be months before we get the release.
Hopefully someone from Joe’s team will pick this up and give more details.

Re: PPV

Well spotted Jane, the link to the FAQ page seems to cover everything.
I note you don’t have to watch live and can purchase tickets after the event, up to September 27.

Re: PPV

Apparently the party is on !!
I can go direct to TV with HDMI cable. Who duh thunk.
Thank you in advance Mr. Bonamassa

I'm still curious about details for sending in picture if you buy that package
glad to know it will be on demand for a week because with my luck the internet will fail or something big_smile

On August 9 I submitted a photo to the link they gave me with my ticket confirmation, and got an email today saying the photo was accepted. It required me to complete a pretty standard photo release/consent form, which I was able to do online in a couple of minutes. Easy peasy! cool

Re: PPV

I’ll pass on the vip, I prefer local brick and mortar, but I’ve a small watch party lined up. 1 pm on Sunday with food, drink and some new Joe fans I know. Best seat in the house!

Hi Rick, I was also hoping to invite a few people over to watch. Are you planning to watch on your TV?
I don't have all the specifics yet but from what I saw you can watch from a phone, a tablet, or a computer...looked like a big hassle to hook up to a TV.  Any advice for us non-techies?
