Topic: The Alastair Greene Band

I recently got steered onto Alastair about 4 months ago when Bluesman Daryl shared a video on FB of him goin' toe to toe with Walter Trout at last years Big Blues Bender in Vegas. It was that same kind of moment when my neighbor dropped Blues Deluxe on me in '05. Alastair's band has been together for 20 years in and around the Santa Barbara area. He spent about 7 years touring with The Alan Parson's Project till early 2017 to focus on his Bluesrock trio. Here's a few tracks to check out. The live one is from his 20th Anniversary double CD, Live From The 805. ENJOY!!!

If you think Nome Zayne sounds a lot like ZZ Top yer absolutely right. Billy Gibbons wrote it, but never released it and gave Alastair his blessing to cover it.

Re: The Alastair Greene Band

I heard him a couple of years ago and really like his last two studio albums
Good heavy Bluesrock guitar music

Your rock candy baby
Your hard sweet and sticky

Glad you made it over to The Torch. I was gonna try to make it, but saw him in Tahoe the night before opening for Samantha Fish. Once I hit the road about 12:30pm I just wanted to get home as the traffic was getting progressively worse the closer I got to the Bay Area. I've seen him 5 times since late April and can't wait to see them again. He is solid! Are you going to see Kenny Wayne on the 14th @ The Crest? I'll be there with Daryl (Bluezman).

I understand the traffic deal on Labor Day weekend....Unfortunately, The Crest's rows are too close to each other for a guy my size so I either have to have "front row or don't go" for any show there and besides, I will be seeing KWS on the cruise next February....Glad to hear from you again as there has been a decent gap between posts....Going to see Marcus King next week in SF and Ana Popovic at Harlow's in October...May throw in a trip or two to Biscuits and Blues before seeing Joe at the Bob Hope Theater in Stockton November 25th....
