Topic: Richmond, Va. Oct. 18th

Just got our tickets for Joe playing at Toad's Place in Richmond.  The reserved seats are in sections A, B and C.  Section B is the center section.  There is no explanation or seating charts on their website, so I had to call to find out.

We are section B, row 2.  Anybody else going???

Yippie, we're going!  We're in section B, row 3 and I'll have a JB shirt on, hopefully the street team one I ordered.

See you there!

That's great Dazee!  Still some good seats available.  I wonder if Joe will perform "Richmond" while in Richmond?????   See you guys there.

Hey Fitter8, we are in section B row 2, which is the center section.  There are two price levels, reserved in from of the Stage and GA which is back of reserved.  That is my understanding from talking with someone there.  Hope you can make it Jane!

Lt. Shred,

I'm not sure that's too safe. Remember there's a universe wide warning regarding what could happen if two Bonametals get within 15 feet of each other. I think the exact phrasing in the Everthing You Want To Know About The Universe book is, "Two Bonametals cannot, under any circumstances, occupy the same space at the same time. In addition, if they come within fifteen (15) feet of each other, the Universe as it exists will get a giant boo-boo." I hope that Jane and David are aware of this warning and if not, is there anyway we might be able to warn them? I'm afraid if we fail to notify them the result could be, well how should I say it, a big BOO-BOO on our part.

Capt. Roy

I think it's like magnets...two likes (Bonametals) repel. They CAN'T get within 15 feet of each other!

If you want to be close to the venue, look for hotels in the Shockoe Slip area, that's where Toad's is located.  If the prices are too steep try the hotels in Ashland Va. It's about 20 minutes from Richmond.

Re: Richmond, Va. Oct. 18th

Dazee, it sounds like you know the area pretty well.  Are you or anyone else aware of any ongoing contstruction on 95 nearby Richmond.  I'll be racing from work to make the show and would love to avoid any avoidable delay.

Thanks,
Rob

I know they played for at least 12 minutes Django and Just Got Paid because Jane called me and let me listen. As poor as cell phone reception is, I still got a thrill..Thanks Jane!!!! I only had 8 minutes total on my phone last month so 12 minutes was long..lol...Cathy

Re: Richmond, Va. Oct. 18th

I have to agree with David A, this wasn't a show but a concert.  I must say the band is really tight and they looked like they were having the time of their lives up on the stage.  I know these guys had to be suffering from serious jet lag but it didn't show at all. The amount of energy displayed last night had the room charged!

Toad's Place has only been opened for 3 months. It a nice place in a not so nice location and  I think they have a few kinks to work out. There was both seating, which Joe requested and standing. The crowd was the most rowdiest I've seen at one of Joe's concerts plus there was quite a few rude folks that insisted on talking, very loudly at that, throughout the whole thing, shame on them. It was good to see Jane and Rob again.

Crosby has come a long way since I saw his 1st performance at the Birchmere. He was more at easy and outgoing. He did about 5 songs and rocked the house. I was glad to see the long line of people buying his CD after his set.  Way to go Crosby!

I didn't write down the set list so going from my memory,  it was pretty much the same as what David posted about the Raleigh concert. I'm not sure how long they played but it did seem longer than the last few times I've seen them. There was 2 encores, the 2nd one being an acoustic of Miss You, Hate You.  Bogie, Rick and Carmine did mingle with the crowd after the show but Joe did not. I understand why he didn't and I think it's a shame that a few obnoxious fans had to ruin it for the rest of us. Maybe a nice big bodyguard is needed.

As for Joe, Bogie, Rick and Carmine, what can I say? They're an extremely talented group of musicians that gel together so very well to create a room full of beautiful music.  Thank you guys for another wonderful evening!

Oh yeah, I almost forget to say, there was no Richmond in Richmond.
