I have to agree with David A, this wasn't a show but a concert. I must say the band is really tight and they looked like they were having the time of their lives up on the stage. I know these guys had to be suffering from serious jet lag but it didn't show at all. The amount of energy displayed last night had the room charged!
Toad's Place has only been opened for 3 months. It a nice place in a not so nice location and I think they have a few kinks to work out. There was both seating, which Joe requested and standing. The crowd was the most rowdiest I've seen at one of Joe's concerts plus there was quite a few rude folks that insisted on talking, very loudly at that, throughout the whole thing, shame on them. It was good to see Jane and Rob again.
Crosby has come a long way since I saw his 1st performance at the Birchmere. He was more at easy and outgoing. He did about 5 songs and rocked the house. I was glad to see the long line of people buying his CD after his set. Way to go Crosby!
I didn't write down the set list so going from my memory, it was pretty much the same as what David posted about the Raleigh concert. I'm not sure how long they played but it did seem longer than the last few times I've seen them. There was 2 encores, the 2nd one being an acoustic of Miss You, Hate You. Bogie, Rick and Carmine did mingle with the crowd after the show but Joe did not. I understand why he didn't and I think it's a shame that a few obnoxious fans had to ruin it for the rest of us. Maybe a nice big bodyguard is needed.
As for Joe, Bogie, Rick and Carmine, what can I say? They're an extremely talented group of musicians that gel together so very well to create a room full of beautiful music. Thank you guys for another wonderful evening!
Oh yeah, I almost forget to say, there was no Richmond in Richmond.
