Topic: Joetry - poems for or about Joe :)

There once was a man from upstate New York
Guitar brought to him at birth by the stork
He likes his music Blue
But rules Rock n Roll too
That black sheep fringe blues rocker from New York

so add any Joe poems if you want - no rules - free form or haiku, limerick, however it flows for you smile
for fun....and love.... and love of fun and stuff like that

in the meantime here are some haikus i previously posted in off topics but will
add here since they are Joe related

I've got it so bad
the Bonafluenza Blues
Makes me feel so good

******************************************************

couldn't get to sleep
tried counting Joe notes not sheep
sweet dreams oh so deep

*****************************************************

Bonadepression
no shows no cruise no tickets
medicate loudly

*******************************************

The thrill might be gone
Joe proves with his Greek solo
a new thrill is ON!!!!!!

Re: Joetry - poems for or about Joe :)

Forget all the bad
I'm thankful for Joe's music
It's brought me much good!

Waiting for the show    11-23-16

Anticipation, waiting for the show
Tickets were bought so very long ago
Every day my excitement does grow

It’s not much longer now,  just three more sleeps
But I can not predict how many weeps
That’s the changing secret that my heart keeps

I know Bonamassa’s music will heal
Each of the kinds of heartaches that I feel
Even happy tears will seem much more real

I’m stressing on what t-shirt I will wear
Got new ones and vintage ones oh so rare
Fashionamassa with personal flair

I have been sitting here on my boat dock
Banging my bongos to the clock’s tick tock
Dreaming of Blues only Joe can make Rock!

I’ll return to my hometown Baltimore
From my weekend place down the Eastern Shore
To the Lyric Opera House once more

A fine venue with some deep history
Of the city and my family tree
Place of first concert, me, Dad, symphony

His spirit will be there, felt with each beat
My dear Bonabuddy in the next seat
A circle of music full and complete

smile

Re: Joetry - poems for or about Joe :)

Re: Joetry - poems for or about Joe :)

I started writing this before 2018 so just pretend you are reading it on New Year's Eve big_smile

Last Joem for My Restless Year

Dearest Joseph, thank you so
For keeping the frets smoking hot
Brother, brother for giving shelter
Throughout this year of yore

Oh now that it's nearly over
After a long night in wait
Your music soothes my soul
Brings me comfort while I cry

(Joooooooe)
I believe in love and you need to know
Your song's in my heart's embrace
With Blues tales to tell, never bid farewell
Last Joem from my restless place

We crank it louder down on the farm
Where the love grows like gold
I played your music, he forgave my sins
As foretold in the books of old

Oh now that it's nearly over
After a long night in wait
Your music soothes my soul
Brings me comfort while I cry

(Joooooooe)
I believe in love and you need to know
Your song's in my heart's embrace
With Blues tales to tell, never bid farewell
Last Joem from my restless place

Dearest Joseph, you saved my life
You've always known that
I'm by your side

There is magic in your score
I've made it through with BCC four

My father said upon his death
Go see a Joe show for me
Bonamassa hero for life
Nearer to God than to thee

Oh now that it's nearly over
After a long night in wait
Your music soothes my soul
Brings me comfort while I fly

(Joooooooe)
I believe in love and you need to know
Your song's in my heart's embrace
With Blues tales to tell, never bid farewell
Last Joem from my restless place

My father said on his deathbed
Girl, see Joe shows, be happy
Bonamassa gospel we'll spread
Rock God times infinity

Oh Joeseph, I love you so
The heart grows fonder, I'm the Crow

Please think of me while you write
BCC's setlist for cruise first night

big_smile

Re: Joetry - poems for or about Joe :)

Too bad Joe doesn't drop in and say Hi from time to time though

(If only I had 1% of Joe's guitar talent)

I'm no poet but will play along.

I discovered Joe in September '10
Life has changed so much since then
Living, loving and running around
So many memories abound

LIVE MUSIC IS BEST

Ho Ho Ho BonamasSanta is coming to town
My frown is turning upside down

Hoping to hear Pain and Sorrow
