I caught the release of Metallica's new release "Hardwired to Self-Destruct" on my drive home last night....holy cow! If you are like me, and prefer the first three albums from the band, hang on for this one. It's fast and it's hard. Now, I'm not saying it's Master of Puppets or anything.....let's not get nuts. However, I do feel like it'd fit in on any of those early albums.
I love Metallica. Been listening since I was 12 years old, started with Master Of Puppets at that time.
The new song rocks - point. It's also fun to play it! I have covered it today, see the vid here:

Totally digging this new Metallica!! Feeling very old school! Kick a$$ playing there 'guitarcoach' 
I like the new tune - it's not great, but not bad. It feels a little... static. Still, good energy and I'm looking forward to the new album. Feels like a continuation of Death Magnetic, which of course it is.
As much as I love Cliff-era Metallica, and as huge a band as it was when I was growing up, I'm too burned out on it to really listen much. When I listen to Metallica these days it's Load and beyond. Weird, I know.
