Look closely for a forum member sighting!  (Actually, not sure if he is officially on the forum, but he is certainly a known entity here & his better half is a forum fixture. wink )

Didn't want to step on your post so fast ... but welcome back Rufus ... thanks for posting your first hand account!

I didn't realize Nat's Videos got pulled sad !! ...

I see The Grammy's posted some up recently:
B.B. King and His Legacy: Performing Artists, including Joe, share their thoughts (2:30 length): https://youtu.be/9y15c--4vkw (GRAMMYs)

"The Thrill is Gone" B.B. King All Star Tribute Live Performance: https://youtu.be/3aKyQltCSh8 (GRAMMYs

Yup, the Recording Academy pulled all my videos and it gave me 2 strikes on my youtube channel. One more strike and I lose my channel. Didn't even give me a chance to delete them myself. And at the same time I was dealing with 2 different channels that took 40 - 50 of my top videos and put them on their channels. It has not been a good week. Having quite a bit of anxiety every time I log onto my channel or look at gmail. Scared that I might find it all gone. Time to lay low for a bit. (and the Grammy's video doesn't even look that great to me, you would think professionals could hold a camera steady, but of course maybe I 'm just kind of pissy right now)

Oh, no, Natasha, that SUCKS!!!  I can’t believe they didn’t give you the chance to take them down yourself—that ain’t right.  Oh, I’m sorry!

AND you’re dealing with scum channels stealing your videos??!!  I am so sorry you have to deal with such crap.

Also, you are not being pissy.  (And even if you were, you’re allowed some pissyness right now.)

So much music, so little time!

Re: Joe to perform at a BB King Tribute Concert Sept 1

Sorry to hear that Natasha.  When I searched for your Videos (but saw they were indeed gone) and saw Grammy had posted their own capture of "The Thrill Is Gone" ... I had a feeling that is what happened.

Hope you problems with the other channels can get resolved ... but can imagine it's a daily battle.

Keep your chin up ... someday ... I imagine reps from The Grammys and other entities will be asking if they can have a copy of many of ur vids for their uses.

Thanks!

Re: Joe to perform at a BB King Tribute Concert Sept 1

I would have gladly taken them down myself if I had known there was an issue. Unfortunately the YouTube notifications came all at once each with a strike attached to them. It's very frustrating that they don't give you a chance to take care of the issue before they lay down the law. When I saw what happened I immediately called Linda to warn her because I knew she had recorded a few also. Didn't want her to get any more strikes. The whole thing was quite nerve wracking.

Holy smokes! I am sorry to hear that too, and I wonder if JBTV got a strike for having your vid. And thnx for saving Linda, I saw she already had surprise strikes from another artist's gig recently.

I notified Brian, who does the JBTV, as soon as I could so that he could take necessary action. He removed the video of mine that they had put on Joe's channel. Didn't want the Recording Academy to come after them. Linda and I worked together to remove her videos because she was in the car when I called her and couldn't access her account properly with her phone. So she let me get into the account to take care of it. She already had 2 strikes from Jeff Beck so the last thing she needed was a third. It was a pretty tense situation for a bit there.

Re: Joe to perform at a BB King Tribute Concert Sept 1

I just want to weigh in here for any big wigs that might come across this. Natasha's video's ALWAYS encourage me to buy DVD's and CD's. Most of us recognize the artists rights to their own music and not everything is made into a DVD but every song will probably make it on to a CD. Simo, Josh Smith, Eric Steckel, Joe himself, Matt Schofield (he could make a DVD I would buy out of Natasha's Western Maryland Blues Festival footage), Kirk Fletcher, Tab Benoit (Just picked up his 'Medicine' CD last wekend) Henrik Freischlader (Just ordered pretty much all of his stuff from Germany) and many others.... if it weren't for Natasha's videos I wouldn't even know about most of them let alone own any of their CD's. So maybe the folks over at Youtube should think twice before punishing people who are really good at their craft of film making which encourage people to get out there and buy their CD's and DVD's. Just sayin.....
