Topic: Our Policy on ST M&G Requests

To the Street Team:

J&R is very aware of your invaluable efforts to help promote Joe and his music.  We also know that many of you have asked to meet Joe and we feel that you deserve a cohesive response regarding our policy on Street Team (ST) Meet and Greet (M&G) requests.

Street teaming is first and foremost voluntary. We recognize this and are extremely thankful for those that choose to get involved. Outside of the intrinsic value that comes with helping to promote one of your favorite artists, we like to give back to STers who promote Joe and his music. During past tours and under past ST directors, this may have included granting a M&G to anyone who asked. An unfortunate side-effect to Joe’s recent and tremendous rise in popularity has been a huge increase in demand for M&Gs. The M&G lists have also grown exponentially due to various promotional promises we’ve made (lithographs, PBS pledges, past promises to street teamers, etc.) to the point we have 70+ people wanting to meet Joe at every show.

With how tight Joe’s schedule is between travel, warm-up, press, other preparations and the M&G itself, which all take place prior to the show, accommodating so many people has become a time issue- especially since Joe doesn’t like to rush interactions with his fans.

Another issue we’ve encountered is people wanting to meet Joe multiple times. We understand why, but also want to give that opportunity to new fans and those of you who have never had the experience before and will do our best to ensure fairness. If we are unable to accommodate your M&G request, we can still thank you for your efforts with rewards such as album downloads, tickets, etc.

Going forward, the M&G policy for requests made by STers will be as follows:
     • All requests for a M&G spot must be submitted via email to Ericd@jr-adventures.com no sooner than 3 months prior to the show and no later than 1 month prior to the show**. Requests made earlier/later or via phone will be disregarded. This allows us to have a record of who asked and when.
     • Every show will have a different number of M&G spots available for ST requests based on a variety of factors- we won’t be able to discuss specifics
     • In the event you are chosen to participate in a M&G, we ask that you give it one year from that date before asking again, as we’d like to be fair and give everyone a chance
     • In the event we are able to accommodate your request, you will receive instructions 2 weeks prior to the show
     • Precedence will be given to STers who include time-stamped photo proof of their efforts

Thanks for your understanding in this matter and I’d be happy to answer any questions.
**email requests must be in the following format:
Subject: M&G request for (city, state) on (date)
Body: Name (+1 if you’d like to bring a guest) and phone number
-Also please include a brief history touching on how long you’ve been a fan of Joe’s for, if you’ve met him before (and the date of your last M&G if you have) and specifics about what you’ve done to help spread the word about Joe’s music.

Yea, tried that, nobody ever got back at me about it.

Re: Meet and greet question

I haven't heard of anyone getting to a meet and greet through the Street Team, though at some point in history it did happen. I think those days are long gone.

Re: Meet and greet question

I got mine by purchasing the Tour de Force DVD box set that came with the tickets and the meet and greet passes.  And the price nearly equaled the cost of purchasing two decent seats alone without getting the meet and greet.

Exactly! I think the lithographs have been great values for that reason also. I have also gotten a Meet & Greet opportunity through Street Team activity, but I agree those days are probably gone for good...

I had him sign the insert cover of the Blues of Desperation CD and then the tour manager sells 8x10 photos of Joe for $10 each that Joe will sign.  I got 2 of them and the money goes to Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation.

Yes, Lithographs are made available to UK fans, I believe they only offer unframed lithos for international buyers because of the shipping cost. When a new litho is put up for sale in the JB store there will be two offers, framed for USA only, and unframed for international. The lithos usually sell out in a few days to a few weeks.

I'm in the UK and yes you can get them and they are unframed, but they are the same price.  Shipping has come down but you also have to consider that a good frame is going to cost you £40-50, but worst of all is that you will also get a fairly hefty import tax bill as well.  I cant remember what mine was but I think it was around £80.

Having said, I got great tickets (3rd row smack in front of Joe).  The Meet and Greet is ok, but we waited for an hour and you only get a few seconds to take a photo and get things signed.

My tickets were great too - 5th row right in front of the microphone!

Re: Meet and greet question

I've got one coming up next week and I'm curious how the night will go. What time can I get my tickets? I'm curious what seats i will get. Can I get them from the box office before the M&G starts or do i have to wait until then?

Re: Meet and greet question

I got my confirmation e-mail about it, I was just wondering from others what the day is like, what can I expect kinda of thing.

You appear with ID and tickets in hand at the box office before the time set for the m/g. Once approved, you will be issued an identifier of some kind (wristband maybe) and instructed where to wait. The tour manager or other rep will come out and check/let you in to the waiting area and you line up. Joe comes out, you all get a minute to have something signed HAVE IT READY!, have a word and get your picture.
HAVE YOUR CAMERA ALL SET UP AHEAD OF TIME. The tour manager or rep will take the shot for you.
That's it.

For my recent show, the instructions were to be at will call no later than 5:00 to get tickets and wrist band for meet & greet.  We showed at will call at 3:00 and got our tickets but were told to just line up for the meet and greet at 5:00.  Then the tour manager called our names in alphabetical order, gave us our wrist bands and let us inside to line up to see Joe.  The tour manager gave us all the dos and don'ts and sold the pictures we could have Joe signed.  Then it was a matter of meeting Joe, forgetting everything you wanted to say, getting his signatures and our picture taken, and Bam it was over!  Until the show.  That was another wonderful story with great seats.

Re: Meet and greet question

Any way to get a meet and greet for the 19th in Wilkes barre - or a shout out for a birthday. LOL

Thanks, the meet and greet is awesome but we really did it for the tickets anyway. I wanna say we first paid 250 total for 2 seats in the balcony! So I sold those seats and bought the Blu Ray package, it was worth it to get better seats and the DVD's.... Would be nice for front row center!!! Oh yeah, what about my camera for the show.... I've got one that has a detachable lens but it's not professional by any means, will they allow that?
