I would have loved if the disc came with a bonus DVD of the behind the scenes videos...

Re: Black Country Communion Reunion Confirmed

good vibes to Glenn to feel better soon!

Former Deep Purple rocker Glenn Hughes was forced to cut short a concert in New Zealand on Tuesday  after suffering a "medical event" onstage.

Sources tell the New Zealand Herald Hughes complained about suffering a heavy cold at the beginning of his Christchurch concert and he was reportedly taken offstage by paramedics 45 minutes into his set at the Horncastle Arena.

Mystery surrounds the medical drama, but Hughes' tour publicist has confirmed the rock star is "comfortable and resting".

He will undergo tests on Wednesday, when it will be decided whether or not his tour will continue.

Hughes, 65, has a history of heart trouble and suffered a heart attack in 1991.

Re: Black Country Communion Reunion Confirmed

I know this is silly - and I couldn't find the thread where we talked about it before - what kind of bird is the BCC bird
With the track The Crow I guess its no longer a mystery to me smile

On the new album it looks like a Phoenix, although it is more crow-like on previous albums.
Who knows?

Lester...

He took it all too far,
but boy, could he play guitar.

I guess you didn’t take notes on my lecture.  I described the differences of ravens and crows.
This isn’t the lecture, I couldn’t find that post for some odd reason.  Hafta dig some more... https://forum.jbonamassa.com/viewtopic.php?id=16688

I agree it does look like a phoenix in BCC IV, which possibly could be considered somewhat appropriate, whether deliberate or coincidental.

FWIW I think perhaps maybe a thread may have been deleted, I tried searching here as well.
Feel free to attempt to re-enlighten me though. big_smile
I'm getting some of my assurance from Glenn's comment in the liner notes that the crow watches over the band.

Re: Black Country Communion Reunion Confirmed

At risk of changing direction of this thread.

Probably the thread was deleted, when the band imploded on itself.
I do not see anything has changed in thier respective schedules, so I'm am guarded on the new album.

Obviously a Pheonix rising up from the ashes.

After thought:
Don't crows pick over dead carcasses?

"With you I go" is a strong track and would have ended the CD fittingly. Wouldn't have been out of place on "Afterglow". There is  a ripping solo from Joe.

Re: Black Country Communion Reunion Confirmed

thanks, jusy makes me more frustrated i havent heard it yet!
I started to wonder...why not on cd.....
looked at album, gosh its only two songs to fill that 4th side of the vinyl...so at first i thought they really stretched that out to make two albums...wouldn't it have fit on one?
Then i did a little looking into that and found some good informative stuff, learned that you can get better quality with less on the album pressing..i forget the details...anyway was glad to know more about it but didn't get as far as seeing if it would have fit appropriately on a cd?
well hopefully they sell it separate as an mp3 or something. i don't have a turntable set up right now blahblah

Re: Black Country Communion Reunion Confirmed

The optimum recording time on a side of vinyl is around 22 mins. More than that and the grooves are too narrow to carry the sound well enough.
That is why modern CDs are all around 60 mins with the vinyl versions around 40 mins with the occasional bonus track added to fill the CD.
Less is more, some artists appear pressured to fill a CD when less tracks of quality might be better.
Blame the record labels!

Re: Black Country Communion Reunion Confirmed

Thanks....I am also wondering...is more than 60 mins detrimental to the cd quality or more costly to produce ?

and also Rocket was just messing with you laffin about a lecture...
I would really like to hear again what you said abut the crow 'controversy' (even if its only in my own head smile )

and I say phoenix crow because phoenix is mythological...why not it be a crow...the whole theme with the album covers is cool...i mean what better way to show the bcc bird in 2017 smile

It was confirmed before that the 2 UK dates would be the only European dates.

His twit says "the only shows in 2018" , not "the only European shows in 2018"...???
