Topic: Warren Haynes Ashes and Dust Band

I went last night to the Crest theater in Sacramento to see Warren and band...didn't really know what to expect but had an idea that he would be playing with RailroadEarth and playing some bluegrass type stuff....I WAS SO WRONG... he actually played with a group named ChessBoxer...yeah, they play bluegrass but that isn't all they play...I was blown away by the musicianship of everyone on that stage...I really can't describe what I saw but if you even sniff an opportunity to see this group on stage, don't walk to the ticket window, RUN...you won't be disappointed..this is not a vid of last night but it is representative...go to about 1 hr 19 min in and give it a try....

but don't stop there...if you like that start at the front and listen to the whole show...

Re: Warren Haynes Ashes and Dust Band

We've seen them twice and they are excellent, but the setlist in Solana Beach was a bit disappointing. The first half had a sameness to the songs that slowed things down quite a bit. Once Instrumental Illness kicked in everything turned around. Jeff Sipe is one great drummer.
