I have only seen Josh and JD. Josh on the cruise last year and he was a total surprise. He is more straight up bluesy. JD I have seen several times most recently on the cruise last year. Both are incredible players. JD is more rock and outside of the blues box. JD's material is more fusion blues rock with free form jams. Josh is more structured blues. I would probably see Josh simply because I have seen JD several times and going to see them both on the cruise in a week anyway. So I would say if you prefer your blues more traditional then you may like Josh better. If you like your blues to rock hard and see a player that has a one of a kind style then see JD.
Looking at the tour dates it doesn't seem as Joe is going to play anywhere in Texas. What a disappointment. I own pretty much every live DVD he's released...purchased, not downloaded for free. Nothing compares to seeing him live, though. Hopefully more dates will be added to the list of cities he's visiting.
It's crazy how I am a metal head through and through but I still enjoy watching Joe just as much as any of my favorite heavy metal bands. Yup, 47 years old and still listening to my metal. My patients think it's sort of funny. They normally act a little confused at first; they think of me as a stiff, no-fun, sort of person until they get to know me. After a while they know they will hear either metal or Joe B. coming out of my computer Klipsch speakers. I've even worn jeans with a Bonamassa shirt while seeing patients. Sure, I have my coat covering it but I purposely do not button it up. Any opportunity to introduce Joe to someone knew is a chance to bring one more person into the family known as Joe Bonamassa fans...unless there is some other name given to Joe B. fans.
This is my first reply/post on here so I have to say "welcome" to all the fellow Joe Bonamassa fans.
I hope I didn't go off topic too much.

Just to inform anyone going the show at Greenwich next week that I have just bought a poncho in case of rain so it should actually turn out to be sunny. Either way I'm really looking forward to it.
I was extremely fortunate to have been at the Cavern show on Monday. It was hot, it was loud and Joe looked as if he was enjoying himself as much as the audience clearly were. The open air shows are going to have a very different atmosphere but I can't wait to hear the songs again. I particularly enjoyed Cream's SWALABR (and hearing Joe pronounce it as a word) and Motherless Children but the whole show was amazing.
Roll on next Thursday.
You've slipped in an extra "A" there, David. If you can tell me what SWLABR means I'll buy you a beer at Greenwich. Yes, I do know and no, you're not allowed to Google.
I love this Cream track so I'm looking forward to Joe's rendition. As I'm also a big Truth fan (still have my vinyl copy in mono), I can't wait for the "other" JB songs too.

Funnily enough, I had already Googled it to get the name right (so I know the answer but I'll let you post it) and then messed up anyway! So I guess the beers are on me. I would also have made a second error because I only knew Motherless Children as a Clapton song but Kenny put me right in the pub after the show (answer = Blind Willie Johnson).
So, for those who don’t know, SWLABR stands for She Walks Like A Bearded Rainbow. Very trippy, but perhaps not surprising given the period in which Disraeli Gears was recorded. SWLABR was also the B side of Sunshine of Your Love, which my brother had and I borrowed frequently.
I didn’t know that origin of Motherless Children either, so a point (pint? ) to Kenny.
See you at Greenwich.

SWLABR was incredible last night in Dublin. Joe was just going off on it at the end along with Michael. Some other standouts from last night were the slow blues number "Double Crossing Time", also "How Many More Times" and "Pretending" This show is a guitar lovers dream because of the intensity of Joe's solos in all the songs. The amount of energy he is expending on stage is even beyond what he normally does. Don't see how he manages to keep it up.

He is a man possessed. Also, he was born to play this stuff. As great as Muddy Wolf and 3 Kings were, this is his true wheelhouse. So exciting!
Salivating now for Saturday.....
Thank you for keeping us informed, Natasha, and building up the anticipation for the shows during the next few days. The excitement's building .......
I agree with you, Brian. While the Muddy Wolf and 3 Kings were celebrating the roots of the Blues, the British Blues Explosion is our era and where everything began for the majority of us on this forum. I feel very proud that Joe is honouring the three UK guitarists that influenced him most and very privileged that he is performing these shows in the UK.
I'm looking forward to the Greenwich show at least as much as the four Tour de Force shows so roll on next Thursday.
