Re: What song are you listening to right now?

He's on my short list too. My brother saw him way back then but I opted out of going, many regrets

Nice CSN cover here from Davy

I've been a fan since the late 70's with his first album, I'm A Man.  Not surprisingly he's still making great music and hasn't lost his great singing ability.  My current wife loves him too even though she originally thought he was Christopher Cross.  Seeing him is on my short bucket list.

After my first wife passed away and I started dating again I used to play his song "Be My Number Two" quite a bit to get me through those dark days.  I thank God I've been blessed with love again and I rarely play that great song now.

Yesterday would've been the day for me to see Beth Hart live in Verona, NY. Sigh.... Hopefully next year.

Beth Hart - Sister Dear (War In My Mind) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVTrCR1gBxc

" Sister dear, are you there, are you there?
I wanna talk to you
On a phone, in a house, on a hill
Wherever you want to
I was hard, I was hard, I was so hard on you
I was wrong for so long
Could you ever forgive me?

How to love, really love
I guess I have never really learned to
Maybe you, only you
Would you teach me to?
In the park, at the beach, in the sand
Just like we used to do
I'll kiss your cheek while you comb my hair..."

I know at least one person who was at this concert ................ enjoy the replay Jane

Did you get to say hello to Natasha ?

Lots of UK dates coming up, but will those venues be able to open up ? It would be nice if they did, it's a Celebration of Rory Gallagher ........................ my closest date appears to be at Eden Texas 9/26

Here you go, I found one of them

Re: What song are you listening to right now?

Wow, I never got it at the time, Jim is talking about Paul Barrere, the other guitarist for Little Feat. So now they have lost Lowell, Richie and Paul

All together here in London :

Lowell George - guitar and lead vocals, additional percussion
Paul Barrere - guitar and backing vocals
Kenny Gradney -bass and deep bass background vocals
Billy Payne - keyboards and vocals
Sam Clayton - additional percussion
Richie Hayward - drums
Horns - Tower of Power

Sound is pretty good here, video is horrible .............. my song is #10

Re: What song are you listening to right now?

before Alice Cooper and Ozzy, there was Screaming Lord Sutch. I bought this album the minute it came out, and regretted the purchase for years. He was a nut case for sure, obsessed with horror and loved to scare the girls when in concert ................

Re: What song are you listening to right now?

James Oliver Band - Twang (2020)

A fairly new face on the scene, but with an old school sound of rock’n'roll blues guitar that surfs quite a spectrum of influences.
American Cars; Mean Little Mamma and Stay Outta Trouble put me in mind of Dave Edmunds while She Was The One captures Wilko-era Feelgood. The take on Big Joe Turner’s TV Mama owes a lot to Elmore James and Honey Hush echoes Yardbirds’ take on Tiny Bradshaw’s Train Kept a’Rollin, but then, you can’t keep a good riff down. James’ original The Missing Link has the airs of a very old Shads number Gonzalez with a Link Wray middle 8. Upside Down Song closes with a fine flurry of Albert Lee /Les Paul country picking. The self-penned numbers are competent enough but a brisk run through Misirlou, a la Dick Dale makes a fine album closer and I dare say if James builds a Ventures style medeley around it, would be a show highlight.

There’s no doubt, there’s a lot of good things going on in this lad’s head and this is a fine opening volley of stripping things back to the days of 3 track recording. Aside from the vocals being on the weak side the only criticism, or suggestion is that the next album needs to show more of a knitting together of the styles into something more signature and personal.

Last week I read a post here that I never dreamed I'd see.  It was soon pulled but the rhetoric was indelible.  I think it's time to say good-bye here and leave this very powerful song of hope to temper the sad divide in our world.

I hope you are not talking about my highly political post that Jane deleted ??? I wasn't offended at all, I said exactly what I wanted to say. I would hate to see you leave here because of what went down with that one post
