Re: What song are you listening to right now?

yum, 7 would be better but anything by Robben always works for me. I think this is the concert they had on Palladia last night, not 100% sure. I had plenty of other stuff to watch including golf and Thurs night football but could not turn away from this.

Whadda ya mean ??   Robben Ford was on Palladia and I missed it ?    I just checked my guide and I don't see him for the next week.  What was the title of the show ?

I saw RF in a tiny venue in OKC last Feb or March, can't recall exactly.  But Jim M of this site brought him to OKC and uhhhh hey Jim,  if you want to bring him back , then I will buy the tickets pronto smile

That was a great setting , small venue,  IDK ,  maybe 100 to 200 people ... I was fourth row .... it was really good and made me an RF fan ... along with his last album " Into the Sun " .

Re: What song are you listening to right now?

One of the truly great rock albums of all time.  Personally it is in my top 5.   Jethro Tull's-Aqualung!  I have been listening to this album since 1970 and it is timeless.  Thank you Ian Anderson, you are a true master!

Re: What song are you listening to right now?

@ Chawbacon......no he wasn't on Palladia that I know of, the link is for Jeff Lynne's ELO. That is what I was watching. Knowing Robben I don't think he would want to be broadcast on Palladia, ever.

You just can't beat those small venues, I saw Larry Carlton many years ago at Rockefellers Club in Houston. One of my favs by Robben going back to the 90s is with The Blue Line, The Authorized Bootleg live from Yoshi's in SF......wonderful sound in a small setting, for lunch no less......start me up !

Wily Bo Walker with E D Brayshaw - Stone Cold Beautiful

Tom Waits-esque storyteller vocals over some sublime, fluid guitar - late night and fine malt stuff. Check out this take on Fenton Robinson's Loan Me A Dime:-  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRuek5_Qgww

Have seen Tull several times. Supporting Aqualung in 1970 and then had the absolute pleasure of seeing "Passion Play".  One of the musical high points of my life.

Seeing Joe with Ian on stage together was one of my all time treats. Agreed one of the best ever.

Re: What song are you listening to right now?

Peter Shoulder - EP

4 track demo sampler for the upcoming new solo album. Features tracks; Slave; I Don't Want You; Laying Low and a live/acoustic Rise Above.
Quite simply; if your into the likes of Alter Bridge & Audioslave, these will appeal.

Lighter in vein, I'd also recommend his Feathers And Rain solo album from last year; some really strong tracks. For example - Even In Blue Skies - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWaqb3lLKsc

Frank Sinatra would be 100 years old tomorrow. I was fortunate to see him in the early 80s while living in Houston. The very special memory is that my father came to visit and insisted that we go see him. What a voice, one of a kind.
