Re: What is Joe doing between tours?

He posted a photo on twitter recently of a group of guitars and stated "The gang being prepped for the journey to Nashville and for some studio duty." So given the fact that he was at Gruhn's the other day, it would be safe to say he is no doubt in Nashville right now working on the new album. Joe leaves us a little trail of breadcrumbs to let us know what he is up to wink

I think Joe lives there now too?

When we talked to Joe in Minneapolis he said he decided not to move to Nashville. He bought a house in LA (Malibu?) instead.

Re: What is Joe doing between tours?

I heard new house is in West Hollywood, not Malibu.

I need some Joe...NOW.
Joe = Joy

Re: What is Joe doing between tours?

Too Bad, Nashville is much closer to me than Hollywood

Watch out Joe, they are trying tracking you down, lol! Personally I think that where he is living is his own private business. It's up to Joe to reveal where he is living. I don't think I would want the whole world knowing where I just moved to. When he is ready, no doubt something will be revealed in an interview.

Didn't he already live there (2009 but in an appartment )?

Re: What is Joe doing between tours?

I'm sort of hoping since Steve Krenz the author/instructor of Legacy/Gibson's Learn and Master Guitar does Live Lessons from Gruhn's 2nd floor pretty much every Tuesday.
That Joe will link up with Steve and spend an hour live on the web doing a interview/playing with Steve Krenz while Joe is still in Nashville.

Re: What is Joe doing between tours?

Joe just tweeted:

12 days... 23 songs... The album is written...  Now just put them on tape!

I'm getting excited!

Re: What is Joe doing between tours?

And 6 days to record them in..............starting Monday.

Re: What is Joe doing between tours?

Can we expect Joe to yell out at the end of one of the tracks: I've got blisters on my fingers?

Re: What is Joe doing between tours?

I don't know if anyone is really expecting to have a double album but Joe said in a video he posted on Facebook that they were going to choose the best of those 23-24 songs for the album. Hopefully this release will be released in digibook form. I finally got the Black Rock and Dustbowl versions to go with the other two. They are like musical packaging crack, love them.

Re: What is Joe doing between tours?

A tweet from Anton Fig regarding the recording in Nashville of the new album:

"First day in the studio with Joe Bonamassa, Greg Morrow and Michael Rhodes. We got 2 great tracks"

So it looks like two drummers and a bass with Joe for at least 2 of the songs. I imagine a keyboardist will come in on some of the songs. I remember Joe telling us this was going to be a four piece band album so we'll see how it all turns out.

Re: What is Joe doing between tours?

He just posted a video of him playing a solo in the studio ....if that helps any lol

Joe Bonamassa changed my guitar playing in a good way

Re: What is Joe doing between tours?

That solo is ripping. I was hoping he wouldn't leave Blues rock behind and it doesn't sound like he has going by this track. To some of our veterans here, what is the normal time frame for details Of the new album after Joe announced he's in studio?

I'm with you misthunter.....me loves that blues/rock that can only be done properly by Mr. Bonamassa....time to get back to what you do best (not that he doesn't do everything "best").....

Re: What is Joe doing between tours?

Yeah, that solo was freakin killer! If the new album is in this vein, holy crap, it's going to be kick a$$!

PS Love the avatar Jane! Happy to see you're enjoying the towel wink

Re: What is Joe doing between tours?

I have the feeling these will be combo of self penned and covers.

Re: What is Joe doing between tours?

Joe tweeted this morning.
He's on the way home from Nashville and the work is done. The new release has been recorded.
