Topic: Marshall ~ Peavy | An unlikely pair of amps?

Let it be said that I am under no illusion that tone comes at a price. That out of the way, I've been wondering what sort of tone I could get by pairing my little old Peavy Classic 30 with my Marshall DSL40c.

The Peavy cleans up really nicely and I'm sure that along with some crunch from the marshall, perhaps running the JB Fuzz face in the signal chain to the marshall along with some delay in the effects loop could prove interesting.
What do you think? Worth splashing out on some gear to make it happen or not?
Regards,
Jonathan.

Big fan of the Peavey 30. Great amp. Less so of the DSL, which I dislike greatly.

However twin amp rigs rock- I run a Lazy J with a Hiwatt and  the key is get them contrasting, clean and dirty

JB LP Goldtop No. 290- Aged...rather like me.
