Topic: Sturgill Simpson

I've been away for awhile so I don't know if Sturgill Simpson's album, Metamodern Sounds in Country Music, has been discussed.  That said, all I can say is this album lays bare all the fake country artists.  This guy sounds like a young Waylon, but writes like Dylan.  Yeah it's country, but good music is what it is: good music.  What an incredible album, the best I've heard this year.

I haven't listened to him yet. He got No.1 in the No Depression website readers poll for best album of 2014. http://nodepression.com/article/nd-read … lbums-2014

For the guitar lovers here, check out the live performance of "Living the Dream" on Conan's show.  Sturgill has assembled an awesome band to back him up.  All the songs on the video are different and send chills down my spine.  Haven't experienced that in some time.  I predict this guy is going to change the landscape of Country Music, just like Nirvanna chased away all the silly Hair Metal acts in the 90's.  I know most here are blues rockers, but I hope you give Sturgill a listen.  Some of you will be glad you did.

Listening to his new album quite a while. It´s true that he sounds like a young Waylon Jennings. If that´s country I like country.
