Woke up to -15 degrees this morning, lovely weather, if you're a polar bear.....
On the bright side, it hasn't snowed in three whole days!
Wow that is a cold spout. Thanks for the description of the creek freezing. Glad I have no idea of what that is like.
Rick
Well the creek may be freezing where Jane is but around here the ocean is freezing (sort of). Slush waves anyone?

I will be very glad to say goodbye to this long winter.

That's a trip! Been out to sea during a hellacious Nor'easter (Northern Atlantic) and it was snowing everywhere except the ocean wasn't building it up...near shore it seems close indeed!

PS-Looong time before winter is over! I'm bad!
We did a bit of preventive maintenance on this very old house over the summer that was supposed to help us in winter. I've had to keep a "salamander" heater running in the cellar all night most every night. The "creek" (while named its still nothing more in reality than a drainage ditch. To me anyway.) that runs along the property line has been frozen solid since mid December. While I'm anxious for spring and warm(er) weather, I'm not happy with the thought of the snow melt off combined with spring rains that will flood us yet again. Yeah it's a two sided coin for sure. I'm optimistic but I have to remain realistic, and prepared.
Sandy you might see icebergs this year. No joke.
Stay Safe Y'all!
i saw that gallery of shots of the slurpee waves. I also saw shots of the lobster boats frozen solid in the harbors and a cut in the snow on the road to Boston with the snow twice as high as a bus! I'm sure you will be glad for a warmup.
Rick
There has been such a prolonged cold spell in Baltimore that the Inner Harbor has been frozen over every morning. Phil took these photos a few days ago of the view of it from his office.

Winter finally arrived in Dallas. Got stuck for 21 hours at LAX trying to get back. American cancelled two flights. Finally got re-booked on Virgin America and got home. So glad I'm no longer a road warrior.
Cold and snow, it looks like we have about 4 or 5 inches of snow already. I'm pretty sick of it now. We're leaving for Phoenix to visit family at the end of this coming week and it won't get here fast enough.

18 and sunny, winter weather advisory in effect from tonight till tomorrow night.
SoCal got some weather the last couple of days. Beach covered with hail up the coast. Rain, wind on the coast and snow in the mountains but nothing like back East and in the Midwest.

Umm .. white .. still over 6' of white ..
At this rate, the summer vehicle enthusiast will be hard pressed to roll 'er out before June.
Cheers! .. just venting
Surf City snow. http://www.ocregister.com/articles/snow … ngton.html
It's brutal out here.

-25 this morning actual temp. I am hoping this is the end of the really cols stuff, they are saying upper 30's to 40's for highs starting this weekend.
It is snowing like crazy here in northern Virginia. I have my laptop, a crackling fire and Nicolas Meier playing on the stereo. All in all it is a good day.
